Characterization of ceramic materials is the first book organized by a team of experimentalists on thermochemical properties and phase equilibria data of ceramics exclusively. In the introduction the book sets the background and motivation to writing this book. The main objectives the context and scope of the book are explicitly outlined. In the second chapter, Ceramics are defined and distinguished from other materials. Chapter three is dedicated to providing a clear guide to all the relevant experimental methods proposed in this study as either dynamic or static. Chapter 4 elaborates the characterization tools available for ceramic materials. A systematic guide from experimentation to application is enumerated in chapter 5. Some specialized ceramics and their applications are discussed in chapter 6. Finally, a precise summary section, which is aimed at giving the reader a clear-cut brief guide to choosing experimental methods in ceramics, is given and followed by selected references.
