We appreciate you reaching out about this, Deb. We want to roll out smoothly, and this is why we updated Charmin Ultra Soft to roll out a bit differently. Our Smooth Tear was intentionally designed for how people actually dispense. Although people do dispense all different ways, they typically are not pulling straight down on the sheet, but multi-directionally at an angle. The angled perforations are now aligned with the angled dispensing direction, which results in needing less force to dispense the sheet, vs dispensing the straight-edged sheet. We're very sorry that this isn't what you experienced when using our smooth tear perforation. Rolling out our best is important to us, which is why we have multiple strict quality controls in place. Charmin Ultra Strong is still a great option if you'd like the traditional perforation, and we also have a softer version with lotion called Charmin Ultra Gentle available as well.
