We almost always get the family size. We eat through it and it tends to be a better deal. Cheerios are such a great taste snack. It’s filling and I find it’s probably healthier than the chips I used to eat.

I adore cheerios BUT am concerned about the source of calcium carbonate. If it comes from eggshells that could explain alot.

Please check the dates on the packages! I ordered this cereal with a drive up order and when I got home and checked the dates, it expired 8 months ago! Definitely returned it. Management was very apologetic and resolved the matter with satisfaction which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 1

Not Gluten-Free; Celiac Disease Inflammation

3 out of 5 stars
vibejdk - 1 month ago

One of my favs comfort food next to ice cream when it’s a cherished need for me., but unfortunately, despite this being the only cereal I prefer over the years of switching from childhood favorites to adult sized comforts, and after being diagnosed with celiac disease, I hate to say it, but this isn’t gluten free. Far from it. It’s a shame because I really love their 2g of sugar taste, and I’ve been obsessed with that bland taste ever since I started eating it at 17, for someone who cuts off sugar (except fruits) a lot and don’t have an issue with it that much, even with treats. Please minimize the inflammation those who struggle with celiac disease go through, even fearing the bloating, the temporary weight gain, and the after affects when they do cut it off, craving more whole grain foods. Thanks!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughtful and heartfelt feedback. It’s clear this cereal has been a meaningful part of your life, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us. We’re genuinely sorry for any confusion or frustration this may have caused, especially given your recent diagnosis and the importance of finding safe, comforting foods. General Mills products labeled as “gluten free” do not contain wheat, rye, barley or crossbred hybrid of these grains. They also do not contain ingredients that are derived from these grains. Gluten-free labeled products undergo extensive evaluation. Production locations also ensure that no cross-contact can occur during manufacturing and/or packaging. Finally, gluten-free products are routinely analyzed to ensure ongoing compliance with the FDA’s gluten free standard. All General Mills products labeled as “gluten free” meet this standard. I have eaten only this cereal for over 7 years due to its relatively low level of sugar compared to most others. It is fortified with many necessary vitamins needed daily. Also, the price is reasonable at major supermarkets or discount stores.

Disturbed by the ingredient Tripotassium Phosphate

1 out of 5 stars
Ken P - 5 months ago
originally posted on cheerios.com

After enjoying Cheerios for many decades, my family and I stopped eating Cheerios when my wife learned that Tripotassium Phosphate (TKP) is an ingredient in Cheerios. I understand that TKP is generally considered safe when used in food products. This does not prove that it's without risk. Will General Mills show evidence that daily consumption of TKP has zero long-term health risks? We are disturbed by the fact that a product that has industrial applications as “detergents, water treatment, and as a dispersing agent” is added to the cereal. Does General Mills really believe that TKP has benefits in the cereal that outweigh the potential health risks?
1 reply from Cheerios team - 4 months ago
General Mills’ first priority is the safety of consumers. We use only ingredients that have been approved as safe by the FDA and USDA for use in food products. There are thousands of regulations that govern the safe use of substances in food and consumer products in the United States. The United States’ product safety regulations are among the most rigorous in the world. In addition to regulations, General Mills also has strict ingredient supplier requirements and conducts voluntary testing of products to ensure their safety. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with the rest of our team.

Delete extra sugar / calories in basic Cheerios

Why did you increase the sugar and calories? Please, can you get rid of the extra sugar in the regular cheerios and reduce the calories? People can buy your other products if they want more sugar and calories. Those of us with heart issues need less sugar and less calories to keep weight off. Surely, you can manage having your basic regular product for people with medical issues like us.

Sugar as the third ingredient!!??

What have you done to the makeup of original Cheerios? I have been enjoying this cereal for years and have chosen it because of its small amount of sugar. Now I see that sugar is the third ingredient!! I can taste the increase in sweetness and do not like the change. Are you catering to the masses who want sweet cereal? I will not buy original Cheerios anymore. So unfortunate.
