Q: Any way to keep things cold in the same bag until you are ready to heat the food? Does the steel container have a lid? How long is the cool off time to safely remove the steel container for eating.

  • A: Great questions! The ChefSpot Electric Lunch Box itself won't keep food cold. It's designed for warming. The included insulated carry bag will help maintain temperature for a bit, but it's not a true cooler and won't keep things cold for extended periods. The good news is the stainless steel inner container is fully removable and comes with a sealed lid, so you can store it directly in the fridge until you're ready to pack it in the lunch box and heat it up. As for cool-off time, we recommend letting the unit sit for about 5-10 minutes after heating before removing the steel container, and always use the handles or a towel since it will be hot to the touch.
