I bring a lunch to work every day so this is handy when I'm looking to mix things up or take leftovers. In my experience it heats evenly. Only once or twice have food smells been present as it heats. Helpful for my husband who works a trade job and doesn't have access to a microwave. Helpful for me because I can skip the shared microwave. We both have one.

This is a great product, the only issue I have and the only thing keeping me from giving it that fifth star, is that it's a hassle to clean up after when I'm at work. If I had 2 or 3 of the intercontainers I would definitely give it the additional star I just cannot find the intercontainers for purchase anywhere.

YOU DO NOT USE WATER with this. At all. Ever! This DOES NOT cook meals - it reheats them. It’s not an iTaki by any means. No raw foods - leftovers only. Follow the directions that are included. It works.

The uneven heating is noticeable when going from the Lunch Crock to the Crock-Pot Go. I guess people who have never used the Lunch Crock wouldn't know how bad it is.

I have the original smaller lunch crockpot and compared to that one this one takes entirety to long to get food hot or even warm. I have plugged in for 2 hours and food is barely hot. Also the cord isn’t connected is another annoyance. The original smaller lunch crockpot cord is attached so it makes it easier for on the go and convenience. I do like however you can fit food without having to cut it up. However, the purpose is to heat food and it takes way to long for food to be sufficiently heated before eating. I used an off brand and in 20mins that one heated my food FAR better than the name brand. Finally, the top is so difficult to pull off to eat your food the lock method is horrible.

Hello! Thank you for taking your time to provide us with your thoughtful feedback on our CrockPotGo! It is not meant to warm foods rapidly. Heat times will vary depending on the type of food being warmed and the starting temperature of the food. Stirring will help to speed up the time it takes to heat the food. Should you require any further assistance, please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Uneven heating

I also wish I would have read the reviews here first. I had the lunch crock for 17 years, yes it lasted that long! The only reason I had to get a new one was because my cord dry rotted. I bought this design because I thought it would be easier to take other things besides soups and pastas. I am disappointed in the heating. Like others have stated, the bottom gets super hot but the top gets a tiny bit warm, sometimes still on the cold side depending on what you pack. I would recommend buying the lunch crock instead of this.

I am so happy with this purchase. It took some getting used to because you need to learn how to use the lid. The lid allows for air to trap in the stainless steel container which makes the food not dry out and cook evenly. I use this daily every weekday at work and it makes meal prepping easy. I have lost 15 lbs just by not ordering out. The container is also very easy to clean and lightweight to carry.

I've had several lunches in this and it has been very convenient and heats my food very well. I plug it in 2 hours before lunch and my food is as hot as if I were pulling it out of the over or crockpot. I've had several different types of food inside of this and have not had one issue with uneven heating or not heating enough. I recommend it.

Downgrade from the Lunch Crock

3 out of 5 stars
leofi - 1 year ago

If you haven't used the smaller Lunch Crock, then you probably wouldn't know that the CrockpotGo has a worse heating design than the Lunch Crock. The Lunch Crock heats more evenly from the bottom and sides while the CrockPotGo only heats from the bottom. Plus the bottom needs to be at a higher temperature to heat the food which causes the food at the bottom to get dry/burnt unless you have very moist food or don't leave the food inside for too long. The Lunch Crock doesn't have this issue even if the food's been inside all day long. The CrockPotGo is no better than the other cheaper electric lunchboxes out there. I went back to my Lunch Crock. I hope they make a larger version of it.

I have now owned this unit for a year, so I feel confident in writing this review. I love this thing. It holds enough food for me to eat and not still be hungry; the food is warmed or even hot all the way through. The only complaints I can think of are, and its nit picking, is there is no on/off switch; if you don't remember to pull the plug, it can overheat the food. I read a lot of reviews talking about how only the bottom gets hot but I simply leave the cooking pan in the bottom portion of the unit. The whole unit stays nice and cool; perfectly safe to the touch. Overall, great product and I've used it daily for over a year now.
