Q: My son is a cross country truck driver. I was so excited when I saw this but disappointed that there is no way to use an adapter.

submitted by Sandy - 6 months ago
  • A: The brand experts must live under rocks & have no idea semi trucks are just like an RV in the back. You can get a power converter from target for $10 & the cigarette lighter becomes a 110 outlet.

  • A: Hello! Thanks for reaching out to us. We understand your disappointment about being unable to use an adapter. Please note that CrockPot Food Warmer should never be connected in a car/ truck and is only meant to be operated on the countertop and connected to the appropriate outlet. It can be transported without a problem and used in hotels, hostels and pretty much anywhere else where you can plug it to the outlet to warm up your food. We hope this information proves helpful, and if you have any other questions, please reach out to us directly via our official CrockPot website's "Contact Us" page or through LiveChat. submitted by JUNI - 3 months ago
  • A: Hello! Thanks for reaching out to us! We will be more than happy to answer your question! Your Lunch Crock Food Warmer is not meant to warm foods rapidly. Heat times will vary depending on the type of food being warmed and the starting temperature of the food. Stirring will help to speed up the time it takes to heat the food. The food container lid and outer lid do not need to be secured while the unit is heating and warming the food, but is recommended to avoid spilling and to ensure the quickest heating time. This is such a neat little addition to my work lunches. I would prefer it a tiny bit bigger but otherwise it’s pretty dang rad. It’s easy to clean and makes heating lunch very convenient. It is great for chili, soups and stews. I love that eliminates the need to microwave food as well as cuts down on lunch prep while at work. Some people get short lunch breaks and I feel like this would be great for them. I make a yummy sweet potato chili and I put it in this. Then I set the crockpot up in the morning at work and when I take my lunch my food is ready to go.

We have a few of these, they work great. The only problem we have is after a bit of use the "seal" lid doesn't fit anymore. We have always hand washed the metal.crock and both lids, so there's no reason they shouldn't fit properly.

I teach pre-school at the toddler level, and even though I have coteachers having to leave the room to nuke my lunch for multiple minutes was increasing my anxiety. This product has brought me a lot of peace of mind. I still have to leave the room to go get my lunch, but I'm only gone for thirty seconds and it makes all the difference. My only suggestion is to sell extra food storage containers. It would be amazing if I could just prepack these on Sunday like the lunches I used to put in the microwave.

Best Christmas present I've received in a while. I love that I can plug it in during my break and by the time lunch rolls around I have a hot lunch waiting for me and I don't have to wait in the line at the microwave anymore. The only thing I would change is, I wish I could buy extra Crocks to meal prep for the week. Absolutely love using it though.

My husband has all the guys envious at work today with having warm food. He works construction, and I put a cut-up chicken breast of Tuscan chicken breast with some sauce in the pot from the fridge, and it was hot and ready to eat in 2 hours. I turned it off put the lid on, and it was still hot when my husband ate lunch 7 hours later. I made the mistake one time of not fitting the pin in the side of the pan, and it didn't warm up.

I am not a person who leaves reviews very often, but I love this thing so much! I was going to write the company a letter telling them how great it is, then realized it was 2024 and snapped out of it and am leaving a review here instead. My aunt got this for me for Christmas 2022. I have used it almost daily during the week for work lunches, and it's still going strong. This little crock-pot was something I never knew I needed, but now can't imagine doing without. Sunday night I'll make a pot of soup, stew, or chili just for weekday lunches, and I've used it for leftovers too. It saves a lot of time and money, and I'm definitely eating healthier! I leave the base at work, and carry the insert back and forth in my lunch bag. The lid for the insert has a good seal on it - no spills during transport. I get to work in the morning, pop in the insert, put on the base lid, plug it in, and well before noon lunch is evenly piping hot and stays that way until I'm ready to eat. No standing in front of a microwave, doing the 30 second stir shuffle, and winding up still having some spots cold and some spots hot enough to melt the container, etc. I was surprised how easy it was to clean the metal insert - I figured food would stick to it and I'd have to scrub but that's not the case. I soak it for a bit with soapy hot water and everything comes off easy peasy. The metal insert has no BPA and allegedly the lid doesn't have any either, if that sort of thing is important to you. Either way, if you're on the fence about buying one of these, I say go for it.

    Heavy user

bought used a few years ago, and since, I could be a marketing rep for this item. I've inspired NOT a few sales. i often work in a travel setting, or work far removed from any sort of break-kitchen, so setting myself up for success with a portion of whatever soup is in my 'home' crockpot really makes a difference. Traveling, I've used it and wonder at those who bring their Instapots: much larger and heavier! I've mostly made hot cereals and soup with the lunch-crockpot. I can create a 'menu' bringing a bit of a few different hot cereals, fruit/nuts/cream or milks for a breakfast, and whatever-goes for soup options, including rehydrating soup-type products meant for camping, jarred soup from home, etc. Reheating take-out is pretty easy -- and doesn't mean thrashing around to find something to reheat/serve while using a hotel microwave: bonus! My only disappointment IS the interior lid: I've had a nosey party open it while it was warming (ugh! and dairy-based chowder! sloppy!) Redesign with an second screwing lid that seals, or snap-seal, or such, might help avoid the difficulty the tab-open gave this party, anyway. Considering this newer design, with more lid options and a detachable cord. Glad the prior cord could wrap and stow on base, BUT I'll note my base is now cracked due to use. Hoping the redesign is a bit more durable.
