Q: Can the temp be adjusted while on the slow cooker function? What is the temp range?

submitted by Bego - 18 days ago
  • A: Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the temperature can be adjusted while using the slow cooker function on this Crock-Pot. The TEMP ADJUST button allows you to select the desired temperature (HIGH or LOW) before cooking begins. This adjustment can be made by pressing the TEMP ADJUST button prior to pressing START/STOP. TheCrock-Pot® Programmable 6-Quart Slow Cooker with Sous Vide operates at specific temperature settings. On both the 'High' and 'Low' settings, the cooker reaches a simmer point and stabilizes at approximately 209°F. The 'Warm' setting maintains a temperature of around 165°F. To prevent food from burning, it is recommended to fill the slow cooker between 1/2 to 3/4 full of liquid or sauce and adjust cooking times as necessary. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via our contact us form or through LiveChat so we can help you further. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am – 8 pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Q: How do you use the probe while food is in the sous vide bag? Is there a special place in the bag to slide it in without letting water from the bath into the bag? Or do you need to manually take it out of the water and take the temp?

submitted by Reba123 - 2 months ago
  • A: Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us. To measure the temperature: - Remove the bag from the water bath: Carefully lift the sous vide bag out of the water. - Insert the probe: Open the bag slightly and insert the probe into the thickest part of the food to get an accurate reading. - Check the temperature: Once you have the reading, you can decide if the food needs more time or if it's ready. -This method helps prevent water from entering the bag and ensures accurate temperature readings. If you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us directly. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am - 5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Crockpot® Consumer Care

Not as deep as it looks. Christmas gift used a handful of times and the lid shattered while cooking. My previous crockpot I had for 7 years and wanted to upgrade. Regretting it. Ruined a venison roast. Didn't get to use the sous vide.

It’s nice looking and works well. My dislike comes from the silicone seals on the lid. They absorb orders from meats and seasonings, soups, etc. They are not removable for cleaning, which makes it pain in the butt to remove the odor and if feels like the lid is never clean. I soaked the lid in vinegar, baking soda, and peroxide with dawn overnight to get the best result, by it even then there is a slight odor left. It just lingers in the crevice because you just can’t remove the silicone to wash it thoroughly. I would return it for just that reason alone. The seal isn’t even necessary for the food preparation. My older crock pot has zero seals like that and works just as well. I just needed a larger crockpot and wanted one with an oval shape, which is why I bought this.

Started smoking. I bought this crock-Pot and use it for the first time and it started smoking. There was a very electric burning smell and then I looked in the inner pot was smoking. It was coming from where the plug was. It also doesn't help that the Crock pot was tilted. For this price I expect it better quality.

Don’t get this slow cooker; either this one with plastic or stainless steel. The quality is disappointing and inner pot is of a poor quality. I’ve ordered and it came damaged, loose screws and even though it was sealed packaged & new. Don’t they have quality assurance team to check all? The ceramic is poor quality, if is even ceramic? The coating must have some toxic material w all the prop and toxic warnings that came with it. Concerning. I called for the warranty and it would take weeks. I returned it and went with Cousinart slow cooker.

I really wanted to love this but it cooks too fast. I tried a thawed chuck roast on low, was cooked in 3 hours. Left for work at 7, turned the crock pot on for 3 hours on low, threw in a frozen rump roast and it was overdone by the time I got home at 4:30. Tonight I tried using the heat to temp feature. I programed it to 130° came back and checked on my chuck roast 2 hours later, figured I forgot to set it so set it again to 130° and returned 2 hours later to it off and my roast overdone again. So disappointing.

Smells like plastic & sleeve is HOT

Y - 6 months ago
The crock in itself is stunning . I love the feature of temp control etc. The ceramic insert does not fit inside the sleeve . It is wobbly . A few minutes after I turned it on it smelled horribly of plastic and the base of the unit was INCREDIBLY hot . I do not feel safe cooking food in it if plastic is leaking into our food and afraid it will catch fire with the base being so incredibly hot . I watched a bunch of YouTube videos to see if I was doing something wrong . This was just using the standard tried and true method of cooking on low like the old school crockpot . I had one I used for years from this company and never had any issues such a bummer .

Smoke & burning smell

AtHomeCook - 10 months ago, Verified purchaser
Do not buy! Wanted to love it but smelled like burning plastic within 5 minutes of first use. Verified no remaining plastic or anything that would cause that. Had to throw out everything I started cooking. I tested it again by filling with water to see if it still smelled hazardous and sure enough it did. I bought thinking crockpot was a tried & true trust brand, unique color & new features. The ceramic insert also had inconsistencies. It’s shallow & wider than my other 6 quart slow cooker which I wasn’t expecting, especially for sous vide. Lid is plastic which was not expected, I try to avoid plastic materials while cooking so this is not a good fit for what I was hoping for

Not happy, it took almost twice as long as other crocks to get a roast up to temp. But, not sure if just my specific one has an issue or defect - or if this is standard with the model. Don't know. Anyway, how to find the real reviews that were NOT bought (collected as part of a promotion)? This is a mess! If so many of these reviews are going to be allowed, there needs to be a way to filter them out.

Hello there JoHanna! Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. Your feedback is important to us as it helps us to improve our products and services continuously.
