Q: How do you remove the piece that sticks down from the bottom of the tray and prevents you from pushing the tray back toward the child because that piece hits the child's crotch?
Thanks
submitted by Pop pop - 4 years ago
A: Once it's been attached, the crotch bar is designed to stay attached to the tray; the crotch bar is not removable. Please refer to page 7 in the Polly Highchair (2021) manual for more information https://www.chiccousa.com/chicco-product-manuals/product-manuals.html.

The Chicco Polly high chair has received mixed feedback from guests, highlighting its compact design and ease of cleaning as notable strengths. However, many guests express concerns about the tray height, which can be too high for younger children, and the chair's stability and maneuverability. While some appreciate its modern look and adjustable features, others find it difficult to clean due to numerous crevices. Overall, guests suggest considering other options for better functionality.

Not the same
I liked the old chicco Polly 2 start high chair but ours had broken and we needed a new one, they discontinued it and this is the "latest model". This one is much smaller, my 2 year old does not fit in it, but my smaller than average 1 year old fits. I hate that there isn't wheels on the back so moving the highchair back to where we store it I have to physically lift the entire thing to put it away. I have seen a lot of complaints about it being hard to clean but that's just pure laziness not taking the seat cover off and giving it a good clean so I disagree with the other on that as this one is much easier to clean than the old one.

Difficult to Clean
Been using for a year now and have difficulty keeping it clean. There’s so many crevices with the way it’s made to tilt back. The cover is also hard to clean because it has so many deep folds. While the material is “easy” to wipe down, it holds smells. Baby can’t reach foot rest. I like the height and the large tray.

Quirks need worked out/Don’t recommend
I wanted to use this high chair for a while before leaving a review. It’s been several months and I can honestly say I wish I would’ve bought a different one. I agree with other reviews that mention the wheels being in the front not being ideal. This is very inconvenient and makes it almost impossible to maneuver. Also, when using without the tray and trying to move the high chair closer to the dining table, it always slides up. It doesn’t lock in place from going up, just down. So I’m constantly having to readjust the height of seat. Two stars for the material, it’s easy to clean and the tray is large. Overall, it isn’t worth the price to me so I don’t recommend and I’m normally a big Chicco fan.

Seat doesnt go upright
This chair is nice quality and I like the material that’s easy to clean. However we ultimately barely used it because even in the most upright position, it leans back slightly. Makes it hard for baby to eat. I really regret getting this, it’s disappointing as it’s not cheap and comes form a trusted brand.

Unsafe, tray is not very secure.
Hate this high chair. The entire tray consistently falls off and it is not safe or secure.

Flimsy
I usually love Chicco products but this one was unfortunately a bust. The high chair itself is very flimsy and the cover doesnt go up high enough on the sides, leaving the plastic exposed. It is very hard to keep clean.

Nice material, poor positioning
I got this high chair as a shower gift. I wish all their high chairs were made of this material as it’s very easy to wipe clean. However, this high chair either defective or poorly designed. I have to put a towel behind my babies back so he sits upright while eating. If I don’t, he just wants to lounge back in the chair back as it’s not at an upright 90 position. It doesn’t adjust any more upright. It just doesn’t work for us and now I need to find a better solution and high chairs are not cheap.

WAY too big
This highchair was nothing but a waste of money. My child is very average size and the tray comes up to his shoulders! He can’t reach anything on the tray and even on the closest setting, it’s incredibly far away from him. We’ve tried other chairs at families house and he sits very normal in them. We’re now having to buy another highchair. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Easy to clean, Adaptable for growing kids, & Compact for storage
This height chair is awesome! It is very compact- the legs fold together and the seat slides down to make it extremely small for storage. The food tray also hooks on the back of the high chair so you can move the entire light-weight unit it with one hand. Once set up, it is sturdy and can be easily moved with the wheels. I find the Polly High Chair to be very easy to clean- the clear tray cover is removable and can be rinsed off in the sink. The "fabric" reminds me of a leather material- very easy to wipe down. If there is a big mess- the fabric is easily removed for deep cleaning. The chair is very adaptable to growing children. You can raise and lower the shoulder straps, adjust the foot rest, and change the tray position. This high chair can be adjusted in many ways to make your child comfortable! It is great! The Polly is a breeze to put together! My husband assembled this in 10 minutes- no tools required! If you are in need of a high chair- I highly recommend the Chicco Polly!

Polly High Chair
We love this high chair! When searching for high chairs, I wanted something that was simple yet easy to clean. I didn’t want anything with fabric. All I have to do is wipe this one down and it’s clean again! Very convenient.

Functional highchair for a busy family
It's easy to use and functional. It's also compact, when we're done using it, we are able to fold up and place in the corner.

Not a Good Fit
I got this as a baby shower gift after doing a lot of research on what highchair I thought would fit our needs the best without being super expensive. I like that the tray has a removable clear cover for easy washing and that it folds but was really disappointed in just about everything else. There are so many crevices on the seat cushion - so while it’s easily wipeable and water resistant, food chunks get stuck all in the seat. The tray is SO high. My baby couldn’t even get her hands up high enough to eat and touch her food at 6 months. The straps for her shoulders were huge and wouldn’t tighten enough on any setting to securely hold her either. I had high hopes but was really disappointed by this.

DO NOT BUY
Do not under any circumstances get this highchair. I got it because of the compact folding design. Not worth it. The back doesn’t ever sit straight up, so your kid is always kind of reclined, which is one reason that it is difficult for kids to reach the food. The second reason is that the tray is awkwardly high up, making it very difficult for kids to reach. Other high chairs have the tray around waste level. This one has it right at the chest, and even as kids got older it did not improve.

NO! Just no
I have many Chicco products I love but this one is AWFUL. Tray height is not adjustable. Tray holds water when cleaned and leaks everywhere, likely mold growing inside. Chair is VERY difficult and time consuming to clean. MANY cracks and crevices for food to get stuck. Chair cover is not machine washable and starts to smell almost instantly. Babies learning to eat are messy which makes this product not user friendly. Chicco needs to take another look at this product! It needs work

Leans back too much
Horrible high chair. Very disappointed in the brand for such a terrible design. My toddler will it eat it in. The chair leans back and does not allow the child to sit up straight as one would while eating. The tray seems to sit higher so she has a hard time reaching her food. This chair would be so much better if it was focused more on allowing the child to sit in a normal upright position eating instead of allowing the features to lean back.
