Q: why does the label information for this item not list the added sugar as an ingredient?

submitted by Redwoody - 2 years ago
  • A: The added sugar found in our Chobani® Oatmilk products are produced through the natural process with enzymes used to break down the oats. This produces a mildly sweet taste that perfectly complements your coffee, cereal, or smoothie. According to the FDA, sugars produced by this process are considered added sugar and must be declared on the label, but not as an ingredient. In our Plain and Plain Extra Creamy drinks, there are no other sources of added sugar. In Vanilla, we do add just the right amount of cane sugar to complement this classic flavor.

Q: Is this no longer made with Organic oats? For the last year it said "Made with Organic Oats" right along the top, but it no longer shows that.

submitted by addabrada - 3 years ago
  • A: At Chobani, we’re committed to delivering our delicious, natural, nutritious and accessible options to people wherever they live, work, or play. We’ve found that making a high-quality product didn’t mean that we had to be organic and had access to a more plentiful supply of quality oats to make our oatmilk. Because we’re committed to making sure we deliver on quality, nutrition, and affordability, we’ve switched to conventional oats. Rest assured we will always hold our suppliers to the highest standards you expect from Chobani.

Bought the plain version thinking it meant “unsweetened.” Only to find out there are several grams of added sugar per cup :/

Chobani Oatmilk No Longer Froths

Chobani changed the recipe and the oatmilk is now wattery and no longer froths. I've used the N'Espresso Aeroccino for 5 years with the oatmilk and it was wonderful from a frothing and flavor perspective, for. both cappucinos and Chai. I have tried 3 different cartons of oatmilk in the past 2 weeks and none froth. jSadly, I will no longer use this brand.

After years of being a Chobani oat milk fan, I'm out. Whatever has happened to the recipe has really degraded the quality and creaminess. It's particularly frustrating that the carton doesn't indicate a recipe change, since I bought a new frother thinking mine was giving out.

This oat milk isn’t good anymore after the recipe change. Huge bummer, I’ve been buying this exclusively for 2 years. I won’t be buying it anymore. I’ve found Ca lifa Farms barista blend is a pretty good substitute. Hopefully Chobani will bring the old recipe back

You guys literally had the best oat milk I ever had. It literally made my Matcha and my chai latte is absolutely perfect. And I used to froth amazing in the morning. My drink will be so creamy and smooth. Your new recipe is a AWFUL! I don’t know why you to his ex will tell you to change the recipe when they are not in a store buying it. They are killing yourselves because it sucks clearly we hate it. Bring the new recipe back and we will all be happy

They have to have changed the recipe. It is HORRIBLE now! I use it in my coffee and add a splash of half and half. You can see the oil separation on the top of the coffee now! It is so oily and not creamy anymore. Not worth the money and I will not be buying it anymore.

New recipe is a travesty. Tastes like watery nothing with a touch of artificial sweetener. I drank this every single day before! Now can’t even imagine finishing the open package. Throwing away all the cartons I have at home and starting the search for a new oatmilk.

Don’t Fix it Unless It’s Broke

Is there a way to protest and beg for chobani to bring back the original extra creamy? The new recipe is awful. It makes my coffee taste watered down and it doesn’t froth either. We have spent years buying this brand and recommending it to everyone. We even got our small town grocery stores to get this after not carrying it for so long and now we are just heartbroken. We won’t be buying the new stuff anymore and I hope the drop in their sales shows how unhappy people are. If you’re needing something close to this, full fat oatly and minor figures are great comparables

I have been buying Chobani oatmilk extra creamy for years. It was my favorite. The past few weeks I noticed my morning matcha has been tasting different—watery and not at all creamy. At first I thought it was all in my head, but then I googled and found that they changed the formula. I’m so disappointed. Time to find a new oatmilk.

Heartbreaking Formula Change

The formula change is extremely disappointing. This used to by everyday oat milk and I was a loyalist. It was perfect in cereal and shakes. The closest you could get to real milk creaminess. Now it’s thin and watery and sad. Devastating.

This doesn’t froth anymore. So unbelievably frustrating that you would change the recipe like this and not mention it…time to find a different brand that will actually be extra creamy when it froths instead of watery and sad. So disappointing, Chobani.

Goodbye Creaminess

I’ve been looking forward to my iced coffee every morning since I bought my new espresso machine. I was loving the extra creamy oat milk from Chobani. Last week I bought a new carton and was starting to think it was a bad batch or that my coffee beans were off because my drink tasted watery and felt like I had taken 100 steps back in the deliciousness. I’m equally relieved to know I’m not the only one and so disappointed in Chobani. If the new recipe remains, I guess it’ll be time to switch to Oatly… don’t call it extra creamy if it has no creaminess :(

So disappointing that you changed the recipe. My partner and I were obsessed with your old recipe. We would use it in our milk and even for cooking. It was so hard to find a milk that would cook well. We unfortunately will not be buying this brand again.
