Summary of reviews
This shape matching game is a hit with young children, aiding in color and shape recognition, fine motor skills, and cognitive development. The wooden shapes are durable and come with a convenient storage bag. However, some guests noted that the base tiles are made of cardboard, not wood, and there were occasional issues with paint and missing pieces.

When I bought this for my toddler, I wasn’t sure if it would be something they cared about, or if it would be a regret buy. However, I can honestly say my kids enjoy playing with this game. They love to match shapes, and look at the colors!

The colors on the squares are coming off. There's no label or chart for the names of the shapes... there's like 3-4 different stars... A lightening shape, a flower I guess, a heart, moon and rainbow? And I'm thinking an X... I don't know... then you have rhombus, square and diamond... hexagon, octagon, pentagon... circle and oval... triangle and trapezoid... It would be nice if the wooden pieces were labeled on one side.
Buy it!

My two year old LOVES matching the shapes. It helps with color and shape recognition, it also helps with his fine motor skills because he has to try to fit the piece in it. The tiles are very sturdy and durable, plus it comes with a storage bag! I also use the wooden shapes for different learning activities! It’s very open ended, no complaints here. Also affordable!

All my boys loved this matching/puzzle game. Ages are 6,4, and 2. My 6 and 4 year old played the more advanced game mode. After they were done my 2 year old loved to put together the shapes with the puzzle squares. We also loved that it came with a storage bag.

This is a simple matching game for preschoolers. Not only can you work with your child on matching, but color and shape recognition can also be covered. Wooden shapes match the color of the inset openings. One shape tends to give my son trouble because it has to go in one exact way, the other shapes can be upside down or backwards and fit. But that shape is teaching him perserverance! Great busy game for kids.

This is one of my daughter’s favorite toys/games to play with us! She learned every shape quickly and loved identifying them. We made a little grid with the tiles and gave her one shape at a time so we could focus on learning each one.

I just opened this today, or it would be gong back to the store! As it is, I've had it too long to return. The squares that you place the wooden shapes into are cardboard...NOT wood (like the shapes) as I had assumed. Shame on me for not reading the dexcription closer! Half of the wooden shapes were stuck together and, when pried apart, the paint came off one piece onto the other! I think they were packaged when they were still a little wet and therefore they stuck together! I am sure our grandson will still enjot playing with this shape sorting toy, but it's not one I will be keeping long...even of it lasts long enough to keep!! And, to add insult to injury, the website would not let me upload my photos...even after I adjusted them to the 'required' size!!!!!!! Argh!!

Cute! Definitely wait for appropriate age for use or always have adult present for use. These look easily bendable. Not scratch resistant by any means. I bought these for my son for future use, but my 6 year old autistic daughter finds these to be very fun and they hold her attention.

It’s not wood, and wouldn’t recommend for littles that still put things in their mouth but my 27month old loves this!! We play different games like where he grabs a shape from the bag and finds where it goes, We bought this a few months ago and still going strong! Would recommend since there’s so many different games you can play with it

This product is not wood as advertised, it’s cardboard. Will not hold hold up against littles who put things in their mouths. Would not have paid this much if I had known it was cardboard in advance.

Disappointed with this. Concept is great but execution is lacking. The base pieces ate cheap chipboard, rather than a quality material. The description even says “wooden tiles with cutouts.” The wood pieces are fine. On top of that, seriously disappointed with Target’s lack of quality control. The item I received was clearly used—4 pieces were missing and those present literally had bite and wear marks all over them.
