Chuckle & Roar Shape Makers Magnetic Foam Tangrams Game

I bought this as a gift, and was thankfully present to watch the child open it — the tangram pieces were missing from the tin! The package looked sealed, not like someone had returned it with missing pieces. I don’t know how this passed quality control. A very sad four year old was left with a bunch of pieces of cardboard and a tin. No tangrams. One star because I can’t give zero stars. Would have probably been great if all the pieces had been included…won’t ever know!

Great Puzzle, multiple options, kept my kiddo entertai ed for hours

This is a terrific way to challenge younger children to tangrams. I would go younger than 6 if the child can do spacial puzzles. I got this for a 5 yr old. In addition, the customer service was excellent. There happened to be 1 card missing so I went to the website and explained and they sent a new card the next day! It saved me a lot of trouble in the busy holiday season. So professional!

Very engaging for little kids but the lid got bend out of shape when my 3yr old stepped on it. We cant get it back in shape to hold the magnet pieces, and resorted to using the bottom. It also won't close properly with the top lid bent.

Ages 3.5 and up (even challenges adults!) and I love that it’s great for travel. The only thing that would make it better would be an easier way to organize the cards.

This keeps my 5 year old entertained for a while! We take it in the car or restaurant. The magnets make it easy to keep together. Our box has broken so I took away stars since we’ve only had it for a few months but it still works and gets used a lot in our house.

Highly recommend this game to all of my friends. Perfect little brain teasers for little ones. I got this starting at 2 years old for my daughter, and she still plays with it at almost seven. I have purchased for all of my friends children and family!

I bought this for my 3 year old although it listed 4-6 as the age range; he was eager to put the shapes together and understood how to do it! The “easy” side was fun to do together, and I’m sure as he gets older, the “hard” side will provide a good challenge. I do agree that the box is a little flimsy, but haven’t had any trouble so far.

Dissapointing. I figured there would be more shapes to work with. Very few but tons of cards. I wish they were made out of a sturdier material. we’ve given them a chance for like two months but it’s just not ideal/ the magnetic part doesn’t work very well. I’ve not had luck with much from this brand.

This tangram kit is thoughtfully designed. The magnetic shapes stick to the puzzle card and metal box, so everything stays tidy and intentional. My 3.5yo loves doing the easier blue cards herself and the harder red cards together.

Box gets bent out of shape too easily, and the whole point is you need the box to keep everything together and to do the projects.

I have owned this for a few years. It’s an excellent concept, and all my kids have enjoyed it. Some of the more challenging puzzles are even fun for adults. 3 stars because 1) The metal box is integral part and is flimsy which means it is easily bent causing the magnets not to attach to the puzzle sheets. 2) It’s hard for kids to know if they have all the foam magnets when they’re putting the game away. This could be improved easily by putting an outline of each shape on the inside of the metal lid so kids know when they have included all the shapes when they’re putting it away.

Fun, three year old enjoys it

Good in theory for my 4yo… but got it for a long road trip, opened it in the car and it’s missing card 1 (has a double of card 2) and missing the first sheet of solutions (only have for puzzle 13 and up)… My son is still entertained, but frustrating for the cost.

The magnets and cards are great, but the tin isn't durable enough for this age range. Very easily bent out of shape, and then it's nearly impossible to get it back into the right shape to fit the lid back on properly.

Great imagination to build different shapes. Hold together very well!

I am a pediatric occupational therapist and Target is the only store where I can immediately procure high quality visual motor skills activities for my caseload. The metal carrying case is as durable as a lunchbox from the 70’s. The laminated card stock direction cards are thick and easy to hold for small hands. The puzzle shapes have a magnetic backing which is placed on the metal carrying case top so the pieces stay in place even when bumped or dropped as the child completes each puzzle. I would highly recommend this product and I thank Target for carrying educational products requiring visual motor and visual perceptual skills because ordering online doesn’t help when you need it now.

Loved that it comes in a sturdy metal case to store everything. Good activity to do together. My 3 (almost 4) y/o daughter didn’t want to stop playing with it and couldn’t wait to do the next card. I even got into it trying to figure the shapes out.

This item came without any of the magnetic pieces. It’s a tin with cards with pictures but nothing to build with. I’m disappointed as this was ordered to take on a car trip. We won’t be able to exchange it in time. I had also thrown away the cardboard box that was wrapped around it without checking first. I contacted the company and am hoping they will send what is missing. Either way, it will not be in time for our trip.
