Q: How many mg of calcium, can't find the info

submitted by Lbsch - 7 years ago
  • A: 400 mg calcium per 2 caplets (label directions imply that you should take 4 caplets per day). Can confirm bottle label matches "label info" under "about this item" section for this website.

submitted byHMoney - 7 years ago
  • A: 200 mg. The recommended dosage is two pills, for a total of 400 mg. I find them much easier to take than the "full-size" Citrical, and your body can absorb only 500 mg of calcium at a time anyway.

Summary of reviews

The Citracal Petites calcium supplement has received mixed reviews. While many guests appreciate its benefits for bone health and ease of swallowing compared to regular-sized pills, there is significant dissatisfaction with the misleading 'petite' label, as the pills are still considered large by many. Some guests also noted the absence of Vitamin K in the ingredients.

This pill is not petite. I took a picture of this pill (left) and the Citracal Slow Release. As you can see, it's fairly big. Love how this is making my bones stronger, but hope they'll create a smaller pill

I finished one bottle of this vitamin. I specifically bought it because it said Petite pills and I have trouble swallowing most vitamins. I agree with other reviewers that the pill is NOT small BUT its elongated shape is different than most and for me it is easier to swallow.

Less calcium and smaller than Max Plus version

    McAwesome - 9 months ago
As others have said, “petites” is bigger than expected. It is smaller and thinner than the maximum plus version of citracal. It also has less calcium and vitamin D per pill. Pictured both next to a regular Tylenol (red/blue pill). Next picture is comparing ingredients of max (on the right) to petites (on the left).

What a shame that these Citracal petites are not really "petite". They're still quite large and sometimes get stuck in my throat. Why can't you make a truly smaller pill with Calcium Citrate? I'd much rather take a couple small pills instead of gagging on one large pill.

Vitamin K is very important to have in conjunction with calcium. Why is this not included, and if it is, it is not listed on the label. Also, while I am glad to have found your petite version they still can on occasion get stuck in my throat. Not as bad ad your regular size but still quite scary.

I was using the smaller REAL petite size daily, and suddenly when I bought the petite, they were large, but still called petite on the label. I bought it months ago, with most left in it, because I have trouble swallowing the large size. I will look for another supplement that is the same size as your ORGINAL petite, since I need to continue calcium supplement. VERY disappointed.

These are the calcium you need if you take PPI’s for gerd or reflux. Others don’t absorb the same. Smaller than most calcium, so easier to swallow.
