Q: How many mg of calcium, can't find the info

submitted by Lbsch - 6 years ago
  • A: 400 mg calcium per 2 caplets (label directions imply that you should take 4 caplets per day). Can confirm bottle label matches "label info" under "about this item" section for this website.

  • A: 200 mg. The recommended dosage is two pills, for a total of 400 mg.

  • A: 200 mg. The recommended dosage is two pills, for a total of 400 mg. I find them much easier to take than the "full-size" Citrical, and your body can absorb only 500 mg of calcium at a time anyway.

Q: What size is the pill?

submitted by Majaen - 7 years ago
  • A: I measured 13mm x 10mm x 8mm (or approximately 0.5" x 0.4" x 0.3"). I think these pills have the same girth as the Citracal Maximum pills, but are shorter.

submitted byHMoney - 7 years ago
  • A: Approx 1/2" by (2 lines more than 1/4") - they are a little fluffier in height - like a pillow. A lot easier to swallow than a normal size calcium pill.

No vitamin K? Petites could still be smaller.

Vitamin K is very important to have in conjunction with calcium. Why is this not included, and if it is, it is not listed on the label. Also, while I am glad to have found your petite version they still can on occasion get stuck in my throat. Not as bad ad your regular size but still quite scary.

Changed size

I was using the smaller REAL petite size daily, and suddenly when I bought the petite, they were large, but still called petite on the label. I bought it months ago, with most left in it, because I have trouble swallowing the large size. I will look for another supplement that is the same size as your ORGINAL petite, since I need to continue calcium supplement. VERY disappointed.

These are the calcium you need if you take PPI’s for gerd or reflux. Others don’t absorb the same. Smaller than most calcium, so easier to swallow.

Citracal 'petites' is a misleading name. The fine print says it's smaller than other tablets; which means their other tabs must be for giants! Your advertising team needs to buy a dictionary.

They are smaller than the ones usually formulated, they are not quite small but small enough for the other calcium supplements available.

Hey, Leolady...the descriptoin on the bottle specifies the term Petites REFERS TO SIZE. So please stop berating other reviews when they talk about how the pill do not seem small to them.

Easy to swallow, provides needed calcium for a non milk-drinker without any gastric upset. Expensive, I do wish they were cheaper. But they fulfill my needs.

This Pill is NOT Petite

False labeling!! This pill is NOT petite. It's huge. I compared it to a Centrum Silver and it's about the same size (see picture, purple pill is the Centrum silver). I only purchased this version because the label said it was petite. No way. It's a large pill. I will see if I can return the bottle but since I had to open the bottle to see the pill size, not sure I will be able to return. So disgusted.

No better way to supplement with calcium

BobR - 1 year ago, Verified purchaser
If you have to supplement with calcium, Citracal is an excellent choice. Calcium citrate is an highly absorbable source, the potency is reasonable and the tablet size makes swallowing easy.

Calcium citrate still causes constipation

JKL - 1 year ago, Verified purchaser
I bought the original Citracal believing it was calcium citrate due to the name. After lots of digestive problems I discovered it was mostly calcium carbonate! I found this, which is in fact calcium citrate. However, digestive issues have not improved. These are smaller than the others but not by much, and they're 200mg calcium instead of 600mg, so you have to take more pills. But at least I don't choke on them.

Name refers to dosage, NOT size

I like these vitamins because they are lower dose, hence the name petite. I really wish people would educate themselves on things before leaving reviews that are not accurate. These vitamins are stated as petite NOT because of SIZE, but of potency! Taking a few minutes to research would go a long way.
