Coola Classic Liplux Lip Balm SPF30 - Original - 0.15oz - Ulta Beauty

I bought this product because I wanted something that would provide me with both adequate SPF (30 or higher) and had color or tint. The tint in this is not made for someone whose lips are more melanated than the model the company depicts in the ads.

To be clear, this review is for the tinted version of this balm. I HATE that Ulta mixes up versions of products in the reviews! This was my time using a balm with SPF (after an experience where my lips sunburned, of course). This goes on smoothly, and the subtle color worked with my brown skin, which was a worry as I couldn't try before buying. I can't say if it's the case with all lip suncreens (probably), but with this one I found I had to thoroughly moisturize my lips first with another balm before applying this one for the sun protection. I have EXTREMELY dry lips. However, from reading other reviews I gather that even those who don't will experience eventual lip dryness and chapping using product by itself. This is NOT a deal-breaker for me - I have issues using chemical sunscreen on my face, so I get a better result from using a moisturizer then a separate mineral sunscreen rather than some sort of combo product. I don't mind - even prefer - layering on my face, so why should I mind doing in on my lips?

It was alright. I did not really see any difference on me and found it drying on my lips. For the price I don't think it's worth it.

I get really annoyed with most tinted spf lip balms. I don't really want to wear bright red lip orange or pink lip balm to the beach when I don't have on any other makeup. This is the perfect sheer slightly tinted balm that looks nude. And it doesn't have that disgusting sunscreen taste like sun bum. Just wish they had more neutral tinted options, like a nude peach! Also would LOVE a mineral option.

This has a slighty grainy texture and the tint is VERY sheer, pale, and has a cool undertone. This would probably not work well for someone with darker skin or very pigmented lips, but it's fine for me because I'm quite fair.

Not moisturizing. Does not stay on, i have to re apply a lot. Feels gritty when applying. The slight color is a nice touch but it does not feel anything like a chapstick.

The pigment was very minimal. It wasn't as hydrating as I would have hoped. And it had that sunscreen taste.

I am SO picky about sunscreen lip products, because most taste like straight up sunscreen. This product is not too oily, and has no sunscreen taste! Its my go to from now on.

This product has been a godsend to me. As an African American women I had what was called "smoker lips" where they were discolored. I don't smoke but I was causing damage to my lips by just wearing Vaseline or lip balm outsidein the sun. The dark spots were actually sun spots and it used to make me self conscious about my lips. I started using this after reading that Spf can help reverse this and boy did it work! My lips are going back to their original color and I am getting more confident in my smile. The sun spots are fading and this is after a couple of uses. This stuff really does protect your lips!

Coolant products are far superior than other I have tried. The lip balms help keep you lips moist even in the hottest weather and sun. And so great to have an option with a tad of color.

The entire stick broke off inside the tube then fell on fhe floor when I opened it. This all happened within 24 hours of unboxing (despite it only being twisted up just enough to use the 3 times I got to try it in those 24 hours). Wish I had more to say but didnt have it that long.

I really wanted to like this product, but it did not work for me at all. It felt fine at first application, but it tastes awful and left a bumpy rash on my lips that lasted almost a week. I have never had anything like this occur with other products and I would not recommend purchasing this lip balm.

This product wasn't for me, maybe there's something about my lips that is different than most. I found this to be drying and I had to reapply often, as the color did not last. To not waste the product, I apply a hydrating balm first and then use this as a topper. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect tinted lip balm that has everything I'm looking for! Wish this would have worked out for me!

I really like the Coola Liplux Lip Balm SPF 30, especially now that the weather is warming up. It's super moisturizing thanks to the natural oils, and it feels nice and smooth on my lips—not too heavy or greasy like some SPF balms can be. It also has a sturdy, metal case that closes securely, so I don't have to worry about it opening in my bag.This will definitely be a go-to for spring and summer since I spend a lot of time outside. The SPF 30 is a huge plus, and it doesn't have that weird sunscreen taste, which I appreciate. That said, I do wish it was a little easier to apply - you really have to swipe in on kind of hard to feel like you are getting full coverage. I absolutely love this lip balm! It's subtle, organic, smells like a tropical rainforest and protects your lips from the sun's harmful rays with SPF. I also love its casing, it doesn't look or feel cheap. If you drop it you will hear it because of its metal case. I really love that this lp balm has a twist cap so don't have to worry about opening it unintentionally between applications. It feels refreshing, has a nonstick texture and leaves my lips feeling extremely hydrated. This does absolutely feel like luxury lip balm. I will definitely start purchasing this lip balm again as opposed to my previous balm of choice. Just thought I'd mention that this is also water resistant for 80 minutes. This Liplux Original Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Lip Balm by Coola is just what I needed for my tropical vacation to the Dominican Republic. I was there for a few days and knew the UV rays would be really strong, so I needed all the spf products with me. I got this spf lip balm just in time and tested it out while on the beach. It worked SO well to protect my lips from harmful sun exposure. I would tend to get lip swelling from being in the sun too much because I didn't have any spf lip products to use in the past. I am so happy with this product and the protection it provides my lips from the sun rays. It is water resistant and lasts up to 80 minutes but I tend to reapply every hour just in case. I was actually very excited to try this lip balm. As I do suffer si much of dehydrated lips! I do have a lip problem where my lips get very dry and I need to keep using products that moisturize my lips. I actually liked this lip balm! it Provides 80 minutes of water-resistant sunscreen protection and it is Naturally flavored. When Applying this balm to my lips they felt nice and soft. Even though it really doesn't have like a scent to it , the moistuizing is great and a plus for me. I like that it does not actually absorb quickly which is good for me since I like my lips to feel that moisturizing and oily sensation to my lips.
