Q: Are the feet rubber or hard plastic?

A:Â You can buy a four pack of rubber covers for the feet. I've used them on various items. Customers shouldn't have to replace the ones on the product and they should come with rubber tips but the replacements are only a few dollars and worth the added safety.

A:Â It's about 3.5" deep at the deepest point (the bottom step) when folded. I keep it in a very small space, between the fridge and the wall. Sometimes between boxes in a walk-in closet.

Q: The relatively high cost for the 2-year protection plan ($7) gives me pause. What is the most common failure of this step stool?

A:Â From the Manufacturer: Retailers often offer additional protection plans on items, and while these certainly come in handy from time to time, it does not appear that this would offer you much benefit on this particular item. Other than occasional damage in shipping, there are no common failures, and as a manufacturer we already offer a limited 10 year warranty on this item. You can register on the Cosco Products website. A:Â The upper step is 15.75 inches high. Max reach is determined by taking an average person with a 12" reach and placing them on the top step. For this step stool, max reach would be 7.8 feet. I just got this step stool and tryed it out. There is not enough room on the steps, they are too narrow. I am a small woman, but I felt not safe and uneasy on those steps. The handle comes out halfway over the top step, not creating very much standing room.

I ordered it online, I thought it would be a tad bit bigger, which is why I gave it a 4 star. It fits perfectly anywhere you want to put it away since it’s not big and bulky. The price wasn’t too bad for the size, it should be a bit cheaper but with everything being so expensive what can you do.

It is rated for 225 pounds, ANSI Type II and should be sturdy, but because it is more compact and lightweight, it does not feature the hand support of a taller model, which some users prefer for added stability.
