Q: Can this step stool be used out doors?
A: sure - it's made of sturdy plastic. i imagine, however, that the little foam circles would deteriorate over time if left out in wet weather.

Q: How does do you get this to lock open? I just got this and when I open it I don't see a way to lock it open. Mine just wants to close back up. How does it lock?
A: Hello, you have to fully open the ladder and follow the instructions for properly standing on the stool.
