New Updates are Horrible Quality and Dangerous
I have purchased two of this same stool in the past and have loved it. It was made of good quality and the feet at the bottom were rubber for anti-slip and not plastic. Now the new update to this stool is made of lesser quality metal (feels more flimsy) and plastic feet which slide everywhere. It’s literally dangerous. This is so sad to me as it was a fantastic product before.

Lower quality
I bought this a few years ago and it was a great product, but they’ve changed the quality. I needed an additional one for my upstairs so figured I’d get the same one. While it looks similar, it’s not the same step stool. It feels not as stable, all metal on steps and bottom a lesser quality material. Super disappointing that every company now is decreasing their quality of products like we won’t notice.

Definitely does not look like a new, unused item-
Yes, this was delivered the next day. Yes, it works. But it looks like someone has been using it for quite some time. The steps have -something- stuck to them- kind of thick gritty paint. There are two spots where something looks like it was stuck and mostly torn off. The feet are roughed up, dirty and there is grit and dirt jammed in the "treads". My only choice is to get a refund. I just want a NEW step stool. Haven't decided through my annoyance whether I'll keep it, because it's GOING to be used, or get the refund.

Cosco 2 Step stool needs improvement
We bought the Cosco 2 Step stool to use as a replacement for our 30 year old Cosco one step stool. We are returning this newer stool because the bottom step is dangerous and not deep enough. The top step is still not deep enough (almost half of my foot hangs off the step). The handle bar is not high enough to help a person hang on when needed. It's much safer to buy the Cosco 3 step stool because the steps are deeper and safer. I hope Cosco will recall this 2 step stool before a lot of people have injuries from the steps being too small and not deep enough. The quality of the metal and color are fine. Just needs a design change.

Stool is just too small and narrow to comfortably stand on. Liked the old version so much better!

Id pass
This does not feel stable at all and I hit my shin every time trying to get on it. I have to hold onto something to even climb onto it. The handle isn't helpful.

Just right for kids in a narrow bathroom with high countertops
Perfect height for little kids trying to reach the 36" high counter tops, and for narrow bathrooms. The smaller lower step reduces the footprint so you can still get past the sink area. Looks like they used to make this with a nonstick grip which they don't any more, a double-edged sword: possible to slip, but with kids way easier to clean.

Slippery and Dangerous with Socks, does NOT have slip-resistant steps
The feet are hard plastic and not rubber. The steps are solid painted metal with some 1/4 inch thick raised lines spaced about 3/4 inches apart, but all the surfaces are smooth to the touch. Very slippery with socks. When using barefoot, there was acceptable traction between the step and my bare feet. The instructions on the underside state "Proper Set-Up and Use: 6. Wear clean, slip-resistant shoes." The product description states "Slip-resistant steps" and so I expected slip-resistant steps. These are not. The first product photo is also misleading because of the lighting. The raised lines look black in the photo - as if they are made of an embedded rubber or other high-friction material. But the raised lines are made of the same material as the rest of the step. I understand that higher-quality products are more expensive, and there is a legitimate market for lower-quality items. But, lying in a product description and with misleading product photos to make a product appear better than it is is immoral and scummy, especially when safety is involved. The manufacturer properly labelled this product, but this website (Target) did not. I will be returning this item as soon as I can.

Sturdy, Handy Step Stool!
This step stool is very sturdy! It can withstand the weight of 1 200lb adult with ease. I am extremely happy with this purchase as I purchased a step stool from Marshall’s and it broke within a few uses! I have used this several times since I purchased it many weeks ago and I’m very happy with it! If you’re questioning whether to get it you should. The only downside is the first step which is really small but I just put one foot on it gently to get my other foot to the second step, then I move my foot from the first step onto the second step. 9/10!!!
