The Cosco Finale 2-in-1 DX Booster Car Seat may be the last car seat you will ever need! It features extended use in both of its two modes. It starts by keeping kids securely in a 5-point safety harness all the way up to 65 pounds. In its second mode, as a belt-positioning booster, it has them covered up to 100 pounds. In both modes, the deluxe fabric gives kids a comfy ride.

A: To use the Finale, the child must be at least 30 pounds, 32 inches tall AND 1 year old.
submitted bySafety 1st Product Expert - 8 years agoBrand expertA: You really want to buy a convertible seat and keep them rear facing as long as possible. 2 years old at the very least. You can look at something like the Extend2Fit that will allow rear facing to 50lbs and then forward face to 65lbs. You can then buy a dedicated booster seat later (5-6 years old at the least). This is best practice recommendations. I’m a CPST.

A: Hello, thank you for your question! The Finale and Finale DX offer the same weight and height requirements. The only difference is that the Finale DX offers a deluxe fabric.

Q: Is the cup holder removable? If so does that make the car seat width smaller? I need to purchase 2 car seats for a flight but the max width allowed is 17.8 inches. I’m hoping I can remove the cup holder and make these work.

A: Hello there! Thank you for your question. The width on the Finale will not change if the cup holder is removed. The outer edge of the cup holder and the outer edge of the seat are flush with each other.

This is a perfectly fine forward facing seat/high back booster. It’s very lightweight which is helpful when moving it between cars. I didn’t expect it to be as nice as our other more expensive car seat but you can definitely tell they cut corners to save money. It installed just fine. I do like that there’s a little less on the sides because my child says she feels less hot sitting in this seat so that’s a big plus. If this seat retailed for about $20 less then I think it would be 5 stars.

This is fine for a basic booster seat that converts from a 5 point harness to seat belt use. It does all the right things in terms of safety but the usability of it is tough. When your child transitions to using the lap belt, the guides for the shoulder belt catch and hold the belt at times. Meaning that your child may need help on a more regular basis getting buckled in. By the time children are at this point, they should be enabled to fasten their seatbelt independently, with a parent double checking only. The parent should not have to assist nearly every time to make sure the shoulder belt isn't caught. If Cosco simply changed the design to have more smooth edges on the guide, it would work better. For not much more money, there are better options out there. My son also says the padding in this seat is not comfortable for long rides.

We went from the Graco4Ever to this. My 4 year old is abnormally tall, so she was smashed in the “typical grow with me” seat that we thought we had to have. We got her this and she is much more happy. She no longer looks smashed. She actually said it was comfortable despite everyone else writing the cushioning is terrible. It was super easy to install as well. It works great for us.

This car seat is just what I needed for picking up at daycare, camp and outings so her parents don't have to switch theirs into my car. Police installed and the officer commented what a sturdy seat it was and appropriate for a 4 year old. Arrived quickly, price was right and we will be just fine with 1 cup holder! Very cheap quality. The padding was so thin and uncomfortable for my daughter. I ended up getting graco and got rid of this. Don’t waste your money with this trash. Your little ones don’t deserve to sit on a hard plastic.
