As with any furniture requiring assembly, or mass produced it is hit or miss with perfectly aligned screw/dowel holes. I had quite a few mis-aligned holes with this product, whereas the screws did not secure perfectly.

I was looking for a black wooden bench for my entryway. Unfortunately, this has terrible quality control. One of the shelves didn't have a complete hole on the side meaning that drilling was necessary to successfully attach it to the legs. Then as I started screwing the pieces together, I noticed that only some of the holes were inset. The end result was that not all of the screws were flush with the legs. Between that and the white stuff that I wiped off initially thinking it was just factory/packing dust, but am now worried could actually be mold because of the terrible QA that took place for the item itself, it's going back. Word to the wise, it's cheap for a reason. Don't do it.

I get that it’s made of bamboo but it feels and creaks like it’s made of balsa wood. It was inexpensive and it holds my work shoes, so meh like 3.5 stars

Wouldn’t recommend as a bench, not sturdy to sit on for anyone, other than children. We are just using as a side table in our living room, even though I bought it to be a shoe bench in our entry way. Also, the screws wouldn’t go in the holes all the way. Making it hard to assemble. So overall, cheaply made, and whoever made it didn’t fully get the job done.
