    Absolute garbage!

    ZERO STARS! The wood arrived with wormholes. The cheap hardware broke immediately: one screw snapped inside, and another jammed halfway. It is completely unbuildable trash. I am extremely furious at this piece of junk! Don't waste your time and money!!!

    Nice Wood, Frustrating Everything Else

    The assembly instructions are flat-out wrong (not just unclear but wrong picture, wrong steps), the holes aren’t predrilled so you need power tools just to get started, and you’ll likely have to take it apart and redo it at least once. Check the other reviews, everyone is saying the same thing, and it still hasn’t been fixed. My main issue is the design: screws driven into end grain is a weak joint, and on something you’re climbing on, that’s a real concern. Disassembling and reassembling it multiple times only weakens those connections further. This should ship pre-assembled. It’d be safer, simpler, and not much bigger to ship. Also arrived with scratches on the surface.

    Excellent - once you figure out the instructions...

    Love the functioinality of this stool! On top of that, it is really nice quality and looks great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the instructions are weak. It's just a sequence of drawings, a few of which are not very clear. The most confusing part, though, is that the represetntationi of the stool itseelf in the drawings is way off - it presents it as much taller, where the steps fold under very differently than they actually do. (Helpful tip: the steps need to be folded OUT when securing the the second leg piece on the rails. The picture shows the steps as folded up, but if you do it this way, they hit the rail on the seat and don't fold down...) Othere than having to disassemble it and start over, the stool is fantastic - functional and good quality! I have it at the end of my island, and it is handy for setting a grocery bag when unloading into the pantry or refrigerator, and it makes such easy access for a step stool to reach the upper cabinets. PLEASE fix the instructions - you'll receive a lot more 5 star ratings!!!

    WARNING! POWER TOOLS REQUIRED!

    I rarely take time to leave reviews but in this case I most definitely will to warn anyone considering this stool. Do not purchase if you don't have a power drill. There is NO way to assemble without power tools and I wish I would have paid closer attention to the previous reviews myself. The holes are not fully predrilled. It is good and sturdy once assembled, but don't make the mistake I did and think you'll be able to pull it out of the box and put it together with a couple of screwdrivers. Good thing I purchased it on sale or I absolutely would've returned it.

    Flawless assembly

    Step stool resembles a piece of furniture. The only downside I found was the allen wrench that is provided. It definitely isn't sufficient for the assembly, I ended up using a ratchet which sped up the process.

    Didn't get the right number of PH Screws

    All I'm asking is to be sent the right no. of screws so I can finish assembling the stool!! Hopefully, somebody will get back to me, although it seems there are no means to communicate such issues for a fix (that's why I'm writing a review!).

    Holes not predrilled

    There are no holes predrilled for the hardware to attach the brackets that hold the steps, so that's 8 screws you will be trying to force through wood with a screwdriver by hand if you don't have a power tool.

    It's very convenient as an useful tool in my Kitchen

    First, it's quite easy to assemble, I only spend about 15 minutes to finish. Second, it's easy to use both as a step stool and a rack. And it fits in my kitchen, since it looks very nice. About sturdiness, I didn't feel any movement when step on it. It's a product which deserves recommended.

    This was pretty easy to assemble by myself. Very sturdy and easy to open the steps. Comfortable to use as a seat, as well. This was a great purchase for our kitchen and we have used it everywhere in the house, it's that easy to pickup and carry.

    Solid and beautiful

    It's a beautiful and sturdy functional stair chair. It's a little higher than expected, higher than normal dining table chair. Overall assemble is almost effortless except step 2 in the assembly manual, you have to locate and drill some of the screw holes by yourself. We really love the beautiful wooden finish color of the chair.

    Very sturdy, useful stool that looks great, too! It takes some work to put it together (thankfully my Handyman uncle put it together for me), but assembled it's super solid. 4 yr old grandson particularly likes it to help out in the kitchen.

    The directions to put stool together were skimpy hard to understand. In some places in which to place screws there were no holes and wood is very hard and difficult to drill. However once husband had it together, it is very attractive and sturdy. I like it.
