Q: Does this makes waffles
A: The GR-300WSP1 features removable and reversible grill/griddle plates, but waffle plates are not included 1. Cuisinart does make waffle plate accessories for other Griddler models (like GR-4N, GR-5B, GR-6), but these are not compatible with the GR-300WSP1

Q: I am a very sensitive asthmatic so wondered if there is a bad odor associated with the appliance when it heats up.
A: The first time you use the Griddler® Elite it may have a slight odor and may smoke a bit. This is common to appliances with nonstick surfaces. I suspect with proper ventilation you would be ok, however, it is always best to understand the risks.
