A: It will not let u open the cover until the steam is completely released so it's completely safe.

I like how wide this is! It’s got a lot of great cooking options for one pot meals and clean up is a breeze. I’m not sure what the negative reviews are about to be honest, the description is exactly as it details so if you read beforehand you’ll know dimensions and functions. Don’t blame the product for your human error and lack of reading the description. This thing is awesome and a great price! I literally cook so much in this thing and it replaces pots and pans. The only thing is, it’s not an air fryer so if that’s important to you then I would invest in an air fryer that also has these same functions, but those are more expensive of course.

I wanted to love this thing so bad, but it just doesn't deliver. 9 times out of 10 the valve on the top doesn't seal and its a fight to get it to pop up - in the meantime food usually burns because all of the moisture (like up to 3-4 cups of liquid) has evaporated because it didn't seal. And then once we do get it to seal, the timer for the food doesn't start it just says "on". This thing is disasterous - hard pass.

I've been using a stove top pressure cooker for years, and I thought it was great until I got this. No babysitting it, worrying if the stove is too hot or not hot enough....just set it & put food in & it does everything for you. The ability to saute in it makes it so helpful. I haven't tried the slow cooker or sous vide or any of the other stuff, so far just saute & pressure cook. And if it just had those 2 options, I'd still love it! It cleans up easy, takes apart & goes back together for easy cleanup. I just got 2 instant Pot cookbooks and I'm stoked to try new things. I made hard cooked eggs in it and it couldn't be any easier. Now I can get rid of my stovetop pressure cooker, my crock pot & my egg cooker! I love multifunction kitchen items. If you're late to the Instant Pot party like me, hurry up & join us. I guarantee you won't regret it!

I was so excited for the wider sautee surface and bought this pot 2.5 weeks ago.The gasket that came with the float valve already fell off into the pot and I couldn't get a new one online so I had to contact support. I am still excited about the cooking surface but please make replacement parts easier to obtain.

I couldn't tell if it's functional or not. Very poor packaging, apparently poor handling in shipping, but I blame Target for not packing the products in this category in a regular box and saying it's fragile. Target has unfortunately lost the distinction of giving good customer service. That's why I give it one star and the product is being returned.

I was drawn to this model pressure cooker because of the wide width which would be great for larger pieces of meat. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this model as it has difficulty reaching and maintaining pressure. In addition, the pot insert bows in the middle so any oil put in to brown/sear items pools at the edges. I really like the concept of a wider pressure cooker but cannot recommend this model.

We bought this a few months ago. After just a couple of weeks it wouldn't come to pressure. I thought maybe we did something wrong but this seems to be a common issue. I'm hoping that warranty will repair or replace it. We are extremely busy, so I keep forgetting to make a claim. Making one today

I'm in love with this thing! I knew that I would have to Wait for accessories, but it didn't stop me from getting this wonderful machine. It cooks fabulously, it cleans easily in the dishwasher, it does everything I wanted to do. The only thing I kind of miss but could live without. Is the Wi-Fi connection to my phone. That's just kind of a small thing to deal with because I work from home. I have bought this item for my kids and they Love it. The replacement sealing rings have become available with more accessories to follow. Grab this Instant Pot, you won't be disappointed!

I bought this to replace a Breville that I had previously owned and loved. I very rarely get this product to pressure for cooking and just went through 2 cups of water trying to get to pressure. All the water steamed out of the release valve. I love having a pressure cooker, but this one causes more frustration than necessary.
