I have just used this for the first time and found that there it some learning as I have never used a pressure cooker before in my life until I bought the instapot . I've now used it several times and can't stop using it. It is such an amazing product it is going to be a lifesaver. I wish I bought one sooner I will recommend this product to anybody. It is absolutely fantastic. I bought the 6 quart and it's just perfect. I never thought it would be this amazing until I started using it and I won't put it down now.

2 hour preheat setting

I wish I read the reviews before buying… this thing takes FOREVER to pre heat!! When I called customer support they said 1-2 hours preheating is normal! What’s the point of a pressure cooker when it takes the same amount of time a regular slow cooker does

I love it. It looks so elegant and is easy to use. Meat and chicken is really well cooked in it. It saves me a lot of time and energy. I have it 4 because it takes a lot of time to be on = pre heat. In many cases it took 40 minutes to start the pressure.

Terrible pressure cooker - stuck on preheat for an hour all the time

I decided to buy an original instant pot thinking it would be a great deal and now I am stuck with the worst product. Nothing great or fast about this appliance. It takes 45-60 min in preheat ALL THE TIME since the first time I used it. Might as well call it a slow cooker. Very frustrating when I need to prepare a fast meal and can’t count on this pan. And it is not a cheap product. So waste of my money.

We have had an instantpot FOR YEARS. We used it constantly until I accidentally hit the stove and burnt it to the burner. We replaced it with this version and the quality just is not what it used to be. This took forever to pressurize where it used to take mere minutes. We did all the trouble shooting and still had no luck. I guess I will be going back to a traditional slow cooker since this was a flop.

Great machine, needs a gasket sensor

4 out of 5 stars
Emily - 3 months ago

Very helpful, some of the features are a little redundant because most of the button presets are just different times for the pressure cook function which I don't really need. One feature I'd really love to see would be if it would give you an alert or simply not work if you try to start a pressure cook cycle without the rubber ring thingy inserted. It's easy to forget and I keep messing up my cook times because I forget to put it in. I wish the machine would have a feature for that instead of all these timer preset buttons

Returned after one use. Tried making chicken stock, but pot caved in and got a huge dent when pressure built up. Scary experience, could have exploded. Love pressure cookers, but not this one. Be cautious.

Echoing all other reviews — we use our Instant Pot all the time and we’re excited to upgrade but it will not come to pressure. We’ve been eating a lot of cooked, but very wet food since we can’t get it to work. Returning!

Terrible. Like others I wish I had listened to the bad reviews and tried to find an older model. This new one has given me nothing but trouble. Not coming to pressure at all… button popping up and still not coming to pressure…Depressurizing randomly before the time is up… scorching and burn notice. Every bad thing. I never once had these problems with my old instant pot. Waste of money. Waste of time. Waste of food. Waste of energy.

DO NOT BUY. I wish could give zero stars! Had this for 3 months and it never sealed. I’d get a burn error every time I tried to make anything. I had an instant pot duo for 5 years and thought I’d upgrade. That was a mistake. I’m returning and going back to the Instant Pot Duo.

I had an instant pot for years that worked great. Stupidly decided to upgrade. This didn’t work from the very first time. It gets stuck on the “on” function no matter what you set it to. I’m so disgusted that I can’t return this. It’s worthless.

The RIO IS HORRIBLE!

I have three instants. Lots and lots of cooking. The latest install is a Rio. IT IS HORRIBLE!!!! The rubber gaskets around the pip thingie are HORRIBLE!!!! Steam constantly escapes. The little clear rubber thingie for the pressure relief constantly comes off during my cooking. THE DUO is much much better. The new product is a HUGE downgrade.

We have had this insta pot for 6 months and now it no longer works. It just died. It worked fine until then. But 100 dollars for 6 months is not worth it.
