A genet's tail is one and a half times the length of its body, which makes leaping from branch to branch a more balanced proposition. Genets spend a lot of time in trees. They are the only members of the Viverridae family able to stand on two legs. No one quite agrees how many species of genet exist (maybe three), and there may be as many as thirty subspecies.
