Q: May I ask why every recjipe calls for cottage cheese? Is it totally neccessary? Is there a substitute or can it be eliminated? I was ready to use it today and eagerly searched the recipes. None were without cottage cheese.

Not worth it
This is very cheap unit. The size of the cups are tiny. There is no on /off switch. And the heating element isn't even across the plate.

I’ve had this product for quite some time and every single time I’ve used it my bites have ended up like this. I have looked at hundreds of reviews, I’ve looked for tips and tricks, I’ve watched plenty of YouTube videos and nothing i do makes the come out different. I love this concept but I’ve heavily disappointed in this product.

So far so good!
I've only just used the maker twice since purchasing a couple weeks ago. it works well and according to the directions. I look forward to testing out other things in it beside eggs.
