Motor failed after less than 20 miles

This seemed like a decent treadmill at first, or at least decent for the price. One piece was improperly assembled out of the box, the belt was slightly misaligned, and getting the app set up was annoying (have to download the useless app before the treadmill will start operating with the included remote. Once I got those things resolved, my husband and I (180 lbs and 150 lbs, respectively) used it for about 20 miles at about 2.5 mph before I noticed a very strong overheating smell, with the unit to hot to touch near the motor. We will be returning this because it is a clear safety hazard.

I purchased this DeerRun treadmill through Target.com, and unfortunately, my experience has been extremely concerning. During normal use, the machine began overheating, produced a strong burning smell, and then started smoking. I immediately powered it off because it appeared to be a fire hazard. This occurred inside my home and created a serious safety concern. The belt does not stay aligned, the unit runs excessively hot, and there is a persistent strong odor during operation. This is not normal wear and tear — this is a potential safety issue. I have attempted to contact the manufacturer for support and have not received a response. For a product sold through a major retailer, I expected stronger quality control and accountability. I would strongly advise other buyers to use caution and carefully monitor the machine if you choose to purchase. I am currently seeking resolution due to the safety risk.

Arrived defective. Returned.

This arrived defective, with an error code that indicated a problem with the motor or voltage so it was not able to be fixed. It also did not come with a remote. When I talked to support from the treadmill company (which was available late on a Friday) their solution was just to dispose of the treadmill or recycle it if I wanted a refund. This felt very un environmentally friendly. Target took it back with no problem. The app seemed over stimulating and hard to navigate and there is a $100 yearly fee for the best features. The treadmill was a good size but without any controls on the device it would have impossible to use without a remote. I could move it around easily.

Absolutely awful

I ordered this product and received a completely different one, a model that was clearly much older. After looking online, I noticed that many other people had the same experience, and this older model would release a burning rubber smell and overheating motor after 30 minutes of usage. I will be returning this product and avoiding DeerRun at all costs.
