DeWalt 12V to 20V Lithium-Ion Battery Charger DCB115

This changer came in the drill/impact combo pack along with two small batteries. Quickly finding out, as others have, that this charger is not working with the included batteries or the two additional Dewalt XR 5ah batteries I purchased. Wish I had also researched the charger instead of just the drill and impact prior to the puchase....

My DCB112 charger is not working. I’ve only used it twice and it shows no lights and doesn’t charge. I was told by friends how great Dewalt is but instead it’s very disappointing.

This charger does not fully charge batteries. After just a few minutes the fully charge light comes on but the batteries don’t last long. Sometimes only for 5 min. I have both 5 ah and 2 ah batteries

When I purchased my Drill and Impact drive combo, it came with this charger. Worked great for the first year, but when I would put a battery on to charge it, it would then blink 3 times, and then the light would go solid. It did this for both batteries. I purchased another; a year later, it did the same thing. I have now bought a different DeWalt charger, and I hope this one will last this time. I love DeWalt tools, but I do not love buying a new charger every year.

I would express an unpopular opinion, and say this is actually an excellent charger for the right application, provided, of course, you don't get an outright defective unit. Yes, it is slow, probably the slowest dewalt charger out there, but I WANT that - there is no need to overstress your batteries with a "fast charger" unless you are in a pinch (which is usually a poor planning). Simple rules for battery longevity are: 1. Minimize number of charging cycles; 2. Let the battery fully cool before charging (no hot-swapping); 3. Charge with the slowest compatible charger. I'm still rocking 4ah batteries circa 2013 (12hrs old by now) which are almost as good as they were on day one. This charger charged all of my batteries: older and newer 12v, and 4 ah/5 ah/ 2ah slimpack 20v's, in total 8 different batteries without a hiccup. I do have a contractors grade fast charger but I never use unless I do find myself in a dire need one day.

I got the charger with a power stack battery as a starter kit less than a month ago. Went to charge the battery that came with it that has 1 bar, nothing happens. I've tried plugging it in different outlets and tried a different power stack battery and no lights come on.

Won't charge like so many others on here it's kinda bittersweet to not be the only one dealing with this same exact problem down to the T. At the same time I feel you all frustration and time being money is wasted on something as simple but probably the most important tool and is the reason your tools work, but not this one expect it to not work very soon after purchase.

Purchased this month. Charger will not receive power at all - no light. Old one after years did the same thing.

Same problem as everyone else on the review section… charger stops working. Battery is dead, place in charger, light blinks for a few seconds and then goes solid indicating charged battery yet the battery is still dead. Bought the product because of the trusted DeWalt name brand but should have read the reviews first.

4 new 20v max battery. New dcb112 charger. Nothing working. Not going to pay again for someone to solve thid

Like so many of the other reviews on here, this charger will not charge the batteries and just stays in the “fully charged” indicator even though the batteries are clearly not charged. Not happy with this.

Does not charge for more than a few seconds then reads pack charged but isnt.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Charges my 20V 2 Ah but wont charge anything higher(4-6 Ah). Another issue I have with it its how long it takes to charge the 2Ah and how warm it gets. love how compact it is and that it has a pretty long cable.

Hi, My family just bought me a set of two dcb205 (20v 5ah xr battery) and I have issue charge them on the dcb112 charger. The red light flash for 3 times before turn solide. I have try both battery and I have the same result. I have try to charge again my old battery DCB203 (20v 2ah) and no issue with them. When I read the Manual for the dcb205, it suppose to work with the charger but it doesn't. Do you have any idea how to fix the situation? Thanks for your help!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This charger (DCB112) actually came with a set including a DCD791 cordless drill and 2 20V 2AH Battery packs.In the 3 plus years i have had it, all has worked just fine. However, my son got me a 20V 5AH Battery for Christmas, and it will not fully charge it. Just 2 bars. As mentioned, these items were gifts, at different times.

I'm reading these reviews and agreeing with their frustrations. This is such a simple function for plugging in and charging, but I'm getting stuck in my projects with no battery life because the charger isn't working.

it is not working at all no lights no charging it is brand new charger I am really upset

Got this drill and charger as a gift and the charger doesn't work. I've tried multiple outlets and different batteries in it to no avail. never had this problem with my old Craftsman.
