Differin Oil Absorbing Moisturizer with Sunscreen - Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 is an oil-free, lightweight formula that was developed to provide sun protection for oily/combination skin.
I usually wouldn't leave a review for a product this early (I've only been using this moisturizer for 1 week so far) but this is actually amazing. I have always had super oily skin and waking up would look like an oil slick on my forehead. I have been using this moisturizer in the mornings to prep for the day, and by 6pm when I get home my face still looks matte! I don't use it at night time and yet I still have seen a difference in my skin-when waking up my face is not nearly as oily as it used to be. Plus, it has SPF but doesn't smell like sunscreen! Honestly the best moisturizer I've ever used-PLEASE don't ever get rid of it!
I have very oily, acne-prone, sensitive skin. The benefit of Differin Oil Absorbing Moisturizer is that it doesn't make me oilier, cause break outs, and lead to burning or irritation. However, it also doesn't live up to its claims of absorbing oil in any way. All in all, it's a standard SPF moisturizer that has a thick but easily absorbing texture that leaves an average sheen with no white cast. All in all, it may not knock it out of the park, but for less than $15, it's a great value for the amount of product and quality. I would also love to see antioxidants and other skin beneficial ingredients included, but I will repurchase until I find a better option that has a true mattifying effect.
Buying backups of this item in case they decide to discontinue it which seems to happen to all my favorite beauty & skincare items! This moisturizing sunscreen is the best I have ever used! I have tried many & most with much higher price points! It is not drying or sticky. I have combo skin with an oily t-zone. I have always needed to powder my t-zone multiple times a day due to oil breakthrough. I stayed matte all day wearing this under my usual makeup and I didn’t have to blot or powder even once. There is not “acne medication” in this product so don’t let that deter you. It just won’t break you out like so many other sunscreens. I have also used the Differin gel at night since it was only available by prescription to keep my hormonal acne at bay. You don’t have to use that in conjunction with this product to make it effective but I am a big proponent of Differin gel also because I have had such positive results over the years.
Be very careful to not apply anywhere near your eyes. This product spread during the day into eye area and is still stinging two days later. Also, irritation bumps occurred around orbital socket. Other than that, product is not bad for someone with oily skin. I don’t have acne issues but wanted protection without greasy feeling. Wouldn’t recommend on sensitive skin due to potential to sting face and eyes.
