These are truly awful. The flavor is disgusting compared to the name brand. It tastes like menthol in the worst way. Even worse, all the packets in my box are literally impossible to open without scissors. So if you need to keep these in your purse or car for uh-oh moments, good luck because you can’t get the pills out of the package!! I will be buying the name brand again. Target used to be reliable for store brand products, but multiple things have gotten awful in the last couple of years.

Target, why????? You changed the formula! Awful! I bought the up and up brand because I hate the taste of the brand name and these are worse. So disappointing. Bring back the original
Target, please work with your manufacturer to reformulate these!

As many, many others have stated, since the formula was changed about 9-12 months ago, the taste is so bad. I stopped buying them, that’s how bad it was. The really disappointing thing is, these were GREAT before they changed it. They didn’t really have a strong flavor, and were slightly sweet tasting. Overall, very pleasant. And worked! And so much more economical than the name brand. I switched to the caplets because these were genuinely that gross. Honestly, I thought they had been contaminated with some kind of poison or something the first time I tried them. As I said I stopped buying them, but recently I really wanted to try the chewables again because I realized sometimes slowly dissolving them seemed like it worked better for my upset tummy than the caplets. And hoped that maybe the months of negative feedback Lee to a reformulation. Nope, still terrible. Very strongly minty, but in a medicinal way, it’s hard to describe. I really don’t want to pay such an extraordinarily higher price for the name brand, but it’s either that, or trying another store’s generic brand. I wish Target had never changed formulas, or manufacturers or however the change came about.

Hard and tastes strange, like old and mint. Will be switching to swallowable pills next time.

Terrible new formulation. Original used to taste like normal mint, this one tastes like straight toilet bowl cleaner. I have never tasted something so bad. Very disappointing reformulation.

As many have said, the new formula is much different. And not for the better. Since the change, I have been buying many different brands trying to find something my stomach can handle (it is very picky about anything mint). This brings me to two questions- has anyone found a good alternative? Or better yet, if Target pays attention to all these comments and switches back, how will we know we can start purchasing it again?

I came to mention the change in formula, affecting the taste/texture. I was glad to see I wasn't the only one that noticed. (The ability to open the packaging without scissors was not fixed along with this change. But that is not a deal changer for me.) I personally cannot handle this new formula, so I will be purchasing a different bismuth product.

I thought these things were going to work. They are crap. Waste of money. Never worked once. Tried so many different times and each time was unsuccessful. I just threw them away. Stick to Pepto!

I recently got sick and ran to Target for some pepto capsules. They were out of stock so I risked it with these chewables. And they aren’t bad at all! Like yes, they’re a bit chalky, but so is everything on the market. The flavor is good and they’re effective. Plus, you can’t beat the value.

I mean it does its job, but the plastic they package the tablets in is too tough and makes it you need scissors, which isn’t very convenient when you have shaking dehydrated hands
