Q: How to switch to pounds from KG?

submitted by Laura - 1 year ago

  • A: There is a switch on the back of the scale that you press to toggle between lbs & kgs. It is to the right of the battery compartment near the middle.

Q: Is the readout illuminated?

submitted by Ben - 9 years ago

  • A: the numbers show up as digital once you step on the scale--I also don't find it very accurate

submitted bypatti - 9 years ago

  • A: No, it's no illuminated. I can't recommend this scale either way, though. I'm actually looking for a new one to order. It's very inaccurate. I got weighed at the doctor's office, came home and weighed myself, and it was a 5 lb difference. I've also noticed that my weight is different depending on where I have the scale sitting, even if I weigh myself back to back. It has been up to a 6 lb difference! Not at all worth the money!

submitted byOH - 9 years ago

  • A: its was November 2025 when I brought this weight its digital but no calibration? something that is digital can be set, lock in what the ..., anyway how its sub par. I'd like to get my few bucks back

Q: How in the heck do I get the battery case open?! I see a little screw but nothing is working to take that out!

submitted by Kamshore - 6 years ago

  • A: There is a sliding piece that opens the battery compartment on the Taylor#7558. If you still have issues, please post additional information and we will be happy to provide additional help.

Q: How to recalibrate this particular scale?

submitted by Charlene J - 10 months ago

  • A: All four feet must be flat on a hard surface during use. If the scale is moved or picked, it must re-calibrated. This can be done easily by pressing on the scale to turn on, allowing it to zero and then turn off. The scale is now re-calibrated. Please reach back out if you have additional questions and we'll be happy to help.

Not working! Totally useless!

I just got this new Taylor scale and made very simple tests. Results as shown in the photo attached: 1. 1 Gallon water measured as 0 lb on my flat counter top. 2. My weight on living room measured 159.4lb that is incorrect. 3. My weight on bathroom measured 163.2lb that is not correct either. I did not change anything but just moved to bothroom from living within a minute. In addition to inaccuracy, there are other problems that make this Taylor scale absolutely useless. I don't want to list them here. My sincere word here - don't buy this product, or you will be frustrated! I bought this because I believed one good review that said it only had kinda reset problem, actually not, it's obvious a failure product that doesn't do anything but add more trash, waste energy!

Shattered

Have had this scale for a bit of time. Was fast asleep and heard a very loud noise and what sounded like cracking glass. I thought someone was breaking into my home. Checked everywhere and found my scale had completely shattered on its own. Nothing fell, it was 4am, just shattered.

Nice weight scale!

I really like the price of this scale, it comes with batteries and is sturdy yet lightweight, very accurate and is neutral in color so it matches everything.

Consistantly incorrect

Has been off by about 3-4 pounds since it was new. Then went downhill and can be off between 5-20 pounds after consecutively stepping on it for a different read.

Like the slimness of the scale

I like the esthetics of the scale but the read is off. One day I’m 150 the next day I’m 140. It’s definitely not consistent.

I got this scale and from the first time I stepped on it it didn’t give me a clear number. I went from 188 to 96 to 138 ect. Trust me and don’t buy it.
