Directions take every 4 to 6 hours, or as directed by a doctor do not take more than 6 times in 24 hours adults and children 12 years and over 1 to 2 tablets children 6 to under 12 years 1 tablet children under 6 years do not use

The answer to your question is: Per the directions on Diphenhydramine HCI Allergy Relief Tablets product labeling on bottle of product, the dosing instructions for an adult and children 12 years and over is to take 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours, or as directed by doctor. The dosing instructions for children ages 6 to under 12 years is to take 1 tablet every 4-6 hours, or as directed by doctor. Children under 6 years of age should not use this product. This did not help with itchy allergy. So then I at least thought surely it'll put me to sleep like Benadryl does, but it didn't do that either. Bummed, because I'm cheap and now I have to go back to the name brand.
