Q: Child is 2 and weights 50 Some.. Looks like a 4 year old . Is this safe
A: A belt-positioning booster is not really the safest option or generally approved for a 2-year-old — regardless of their size. Booster seats are designed for older children (typically at least 4 years old and 40+ pounds) who have outgrown the height and weight limits of a forward-facing car seat with a 5-point harness. At 2 years old, a child’s bones and muscles are still developing, and they need the protection of a harness system — even if they are bigger than average. We would recommend looking for a car seat that has a 5pt harness that will fit your child's weight/height.
