Bought this yellow jacket trap on a whim after getting tired of buying sprays. Set the trap up and before I could even hang it in a tree with a strong wire, the yellow jackets were attracted in big numbers. After about seven hours hanging, the trap had caught about 300 yellow jackets (two inches thick of their bodies in bag). I left the bag up for a second day, and it is still catching a lot of the wasps. I think there are just fewer yellow jackets in the vicinity to be trapped now. Well worth the cost and gets far more quantity than the sprays. The sprays are effective for direct targeting of nests, but the Rescue! yellow jacket trap probably reduces the population enough to reduce the number of nests even begun.

Bought this at Lowe's on August 2. Watched the company's videos. Moved the trap around. CAUGHT NOTHING. Called a professional company ($160+) to solve the problem. Yes, they are yellow jackets so I bought the right product
"E" (Easten) traps do NOT attract NJ yellowjackets

We live in New Jersey and bought a disposable yellowjacket trap, hoping to catch some of them living under our siding. They immediately started going inside the trap when we hung it outside and wanted to get another one for the other side of the yard. The second trap we bought did not attract ANY yellowjackets at all and we returned it to the store. By then, we had noticed that our working trap was marked "W", and contained Heptyl Butyanate (sp?) as the active ingrediant, but the one that did not work was marked "E" with different active ingredients; but when we tried to find another "W", all the traps in three different stores were all marked "E", including the store we originally bought the "W". We then compared ingredients on Rescue's resuable yellowyacket traps and refills, which also contain Heptyl Buty....(but in larger amounts for longer usage). We will have to try one of those next, but our question is: why do traps supposedly formulated for the Eastern region not work on our yellowjackets and the western trap does?? NOTE: The 'star' reviews are for the "E" traps, but could not that product anywhere on the site; otherwise the W is great and gets 5 stars!!
Not effective at trapping yellowjackets.

I’ve been hanging several of these around my property over the last few months and all that they trap are moths and lots of flies. They haven’t been effective at trapping yellow jackets.

I hung the bag 2 feet away from a very active Yellowjacket nest. In 3 days there are no insects inside at all. I watch them, and they don’t even investigate, just fly by as if it’s not there. This is the third time I have tried this product, and I got the same results the first 2 times. This is a waste of money and I will never buy this product again.

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PRODUCT WAS 5 STAR, CAUGHT HUNDREDS OF YELLOW JACKETS TO THE POINT THAT IT COULD NOT HOLD ANY MORE YELLOWS. HOWEVER THIS YEAR I CAUGHT A SINGLE YELLOW JACKET OVER A 2 WK PERIOD???? WHATS UP WITH THAT. I NOTICED COMMENTS FROM OTHERS SAYING THE SAME. DID YOU GUYS CHANGE THE FORMULATION, WON'T PURCHASE AGAIN UNLESS I GET A RESPONSE FROM YOU TO EXPLAIN.
Excellent product

We have a problem with yellowjackets when we eat outdoors in the spring and summer. We tried the traps last year with pretty good results (though not as effective as the fly traps). We placed the traps again this year. I was impressed by the swarm of yellowjackets that gathered in and around the trap within hours. We’re looking forward to meals without yellowjackets, even though we know they are beneficial when not on our patio! Placing them is easier than the fly traps since the odor is minimal.

I have used these for a while now and it’s just amazing. Since these have been up this year I haven’t worried about the flies getting in the house much. I only have two refills remaining so I will definitely stock up.

I set up the trap as dirrectednd kept a close watch. The wasps seemed to show interest but would not / could not enter the bag. It seems that the wasps around my place are too big to get through the hole at the bottom of the slitted cone at the top of the bag. The opening at the bottom of the cone is separated by a piece of plastic that divided the hole into three smaller openings. After some time and frustration, they flew away. Maybe that's what I'll do ?

I have to start out by saying ive always backed this disposable yellow jacket trap. It always would attract them almost immediately after hanging and did its job at top tier level. Now it seems after label change the solution has also changed!? We've purchased multiple as we always have and have maybe caught 3 yellow jackets and nothing else. They fly around and dont even go in. Its a huge disappointment. I can't see how its just "unlucky" as we've used this product for years prior to the label change. Super bummed and will no longer back this product after we use our last couple....one can hope the last few work but it seems unlikely.

Have a big wrap around porch. Lots of wasps this summer to the extent of chasing hummingbirds away and annoying everyone. Put a WHY trap out and caught a couple hundred wasps in 2 days. Moved to other end of porch and caught another 100+. Outstanding.

We purchased 2 of these due to 2 nests of yellowjackets in each corner of the outside of our garage. We hung these up for 2 week and did not catch one single yellow jacket. What a big disappointment! We ended up using a shop vac to suck the bees out and into soapy water that killed them. We then put this powder stuff in their hive area and this has worked wonders. It is amazing to me that we sucked out hundreds of bees with the shop vac, but these bags did not catch a single one.

Got one from Home Depot and put it up per the instructions for a week, not a single yellow jacket trapped, yet they were flying in and out of their nest 20 feet away. It had a bunch of gnats in it, but nothing else.

You guys couldn’t write instructions on how to open a paper bag instructions on this unit show nothing about how it actually works or as assembled I had to look at your website to see that the center section actually pushes up through the hole in the top. otherwise there’s nothing that explains it, that is a total fail what is the use of having a disposable item that ends up getting destroyed before it’s even used you should take your people that write the instructions and fire them
