Q: ARE THESE DIXIE ULTRA PLATES ADEQUATE IN THE MICROWAVE? MANY OF THE DIXIE PLATES I HAVE TRIED DO NOT LAST IN THE MICRO, THEY BURN, SMELL AND DISCOLOR. THANKS

Strong enough for a big meal
Bought these and the larger ones as we actually use the Dixie plates instead of regular dishes. Makes dinner so much easier for us. Plates hold up very well, even for a Thanksgiving meal.

I recently tried the Dixie Ultra 8.5-inch paper plates, and I was genuinely impressed with how sturdy they are for everyday use. Even when I loaded them up with heavier foods—like pasta, chicken, or anything saucy—the plates held up without bending or leaking. The size is perfect for quick meals or snacks, and I appreciated that I didn’t have to double up like I do with cheaper brands. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They do the job. I tried these with three different food items on one day just so I can see how well they stand up. We tried a pie, Mac and cheese, and sausage dog. The plates held each thing up very effectively. The Mac and cheese didn't make the play get soft. I ended up cutting my hotdog and it didn't affect the plate. They are a great size for smaller food items
