The changes to the chewy fudge brownie mix have resulted in horrible tasting brownies. Hard to mix, no flavor, heavy texture. I am embarrassed to serve them. I I have used this product for years but now it is horrible and disappointing. Don’t waste your money!

Have to agree with others. Have been making these brownies for 30 years for our whole family - realized right away when this most recent recipe was different. Mix did not fit into my usual brownie dish, the texture was different and the brownies tasted like salty vegetable oil. New recipe on the box is not good.

too cakey. if you like cakey brownies then sure but if you prefer a classic fudgy, chewy brownie like me, go with a different one.

WHY??? I have been making these brownies for my children and bake sales for 25 years. Why on earth would you change this profitable product that is a cult classic? I bought the box of 4-19.9 oz (1 lb. 3.9 oz) pouches. Changing the the water ratio and oil to accommodate the smaller bag (18.3 oz) of ingredients was a huge disappointment. The consistency was off and so was taste. I see that hydrogenated soybean oil is ommited. I hate Betty Crocker but they didn't change their product to save money. Unhappy consumer.

I have to agree with the others. I noticed the amounts changed for some key ingredients in the new directions. I made them according to the box and they were NOT good. These were my favorite go-to brownies... bummer. I'm going to make some tonight using the old directions and amounts. 3 Tablespoons water, 2 eggs, and 1/2 cup oil. I always squirt in some Hershey's syrup too. It makes them more chocolatey and moist!

Your brownie mix used to be one of the best on the market. How does a corporation actually decide to flip to making the worst mix on store shelves? Is this some cost cutting measure on your part that disregards your customers by requiring us to pay more for the ingredients and makes us unhealthier for the privilege. We found the brownies much too oily. The one I ate upset my stomach.

We have always enjoyed this in the past however yesterday we had a terrible experience. After some research I realized the new box instructions are the problem! They state to preheat oven to 325 and spray pan with Pam. Previously it was 325 for dark coated pans and 350 for glass. The results from the new directions left us with unset middle of brownies. Even after 40 min! Definitely a waste of time, EGGS and money!

I have been enjoying your product for years. It is the tastiest and fudgiest brownie out there. But it has one flaw. Before I make it, I take a whisk to the dry ingredients to break up the clumps. When I bake it, there are pieces of material in it like plastic. This phenomenon happens every time, I don’t know what it is but when you get a bite of it, it is flexible and off putting. I wish you would adjust your recipe so this doesn’t happen again.

Disgusting and disappointing. Worst brownies ever! They taste like fake chocolate powder. Couldn't eat them, threw them out, and won't purchase a Duncan Hines Product again.

Used product for years and was in hurry to get brownies done and used exact amounts 0f 2/3 cup oil as per instruction and thought since it said 13x9 Family Size on the front that it was just a doubling of the usual 1/3 cup amount. But it wasn't. like all the past reviews, it turned out inedible, an oily mess! Really am extremely disappointed in the product &company. I am also surprised at the length of time this has been allowed to continue--I didn't have time to read all the reviews past 7 mos. but come on DH this oil thing is not working. I wasted two boxes of mix, 4 eggs, all the veg oil, and cost of heating ove, for something that should be fail-proof and save me time has cost me more; plus parchment paper! You will be getting a call from me to discuss reimbursement...

These are our family’s go to brownie mix. They’re way better than other popular brands. Sometimes I’ll add mini chocolate chips to the mix or top it with brownie frosting and they’re even better

I bought this today - it kind of jumped out at me as I was headed to the check out lane . Upon reading the directions on the back of the box, I thought 2/3 cup of oil was a little excessive. I read some of the reviews and used 1/2 cup of oil instead . I did substitute the water for milk . I decided to make cupcakes- I baked them at 350’ for about 22 min. My husband was ready to try one but I suggested he wait for a few minutes. . The brownie cupcakes were delicious! Moist and not over baked . Will purchase again

These brownies tasted like the sugar was replaced with salt! Yuck. I've never tasted such a salty brownie mix!!! Very disappointed, especially since we bought 2 boxes. I'm not using ingredients to make the other box now. What a waste!
