These for black “turtle” beans: tasty, but lower nutritional value than regular black beans.
Note these are black turtle beans, which are smaller and of different nutritional value than a regular black bean, though they taste the same. Front of can just says “Black Beans.” Only in the small print on the back for ingredients does it list black “Turtle” beans. For vegetarians looking for protein and dietary fiber note nutritional difference per 1/2 cup (130g): Regular black beans have 11g protein, 10g fiber, 29g carbs, 170 calories. This can black Turtle beans for same serving size and weight: 6g protein, 6g fiber, 19g carbs, 80 calories. The black turtle beans are fine, just not the nutritional value I’m looking for.

I LIKE EDEN PRODUCTS AND ESPECIALLY THE NO SALT BEANS. PLUS THEY ARE ONE OF THE FEW MANUFACTURES THAT DO NOT USE BPA IN THEIR CAN LININGS. GOOD QUALITY PRODUCTS. GOOD TASTE AND REASONABLE PRICE.

Delicious & convenient in healthy can
I was thrilled to see the can proclaim that it's lining was non-toxic. That is worth paying a bit more for. Beans were great. I would definitely buy again. Black beans and rice with tomatoes and spices are a staple in my house. And the canned beans are so much more convenient than cooking from dry.

The best part is that these Eden Foods Black Beans are Organic and in a BPA-free can. I always add Sea Salt or Himalayan Crystal Salt for optimum flavor. I enjoy Black Beans as a side dish, prepared with onions and peppers (Poblano &/or Anaheim + Jalapeno), tossed into a big salad, and of course as an integral ingredient in my famous, award-winning Aztec Chili. . . . the recipe for which you will find right here in Swanson's recipe archive. This is a quality product, and I wholeheartedly support companies like Eden Foods that bring us convenient Organic foods in cans with no BPA. Swanson Health Products' price is less than at the local health food store, as usual.

No BPA
Canned beans are so handy and nutritious. For the reviewer who didn't like the taste.....they are salt free If you add about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of Himalayan salt to the can before heating, they are great. For any salt user, the best home cooked beans would be bland without the salt. We no longer buy any other can goods due to the BPA. Thank goodness for Eden.

The only bpa free choice that we know of, besides cooking them ourselves. We actually do that sometimes, but it takes a lot of forethought with the soaking and all. Swanson has the best price we've found. It definitely needs some salt, though.

This product was so so..
Did not hate it, I was able to eat it but the taste and texture were not the best I've had. I just don't think this line of products is particularly good tasting, in my opinion.

Best organic canned beans
Eden is the best of any canned products. Besides being organic, these are USA farmed and canned. This gives me trust, as well as, guaranteed labeling while supporting many family farms. The price is astounding! Check its price at your local store. I make a large buy, and the shipping is still $4.95. Although I cook beans from scratch, there are times when time is short or the menu has to be stretched. Great value!
