The fraction pie pieces are an excellent manipulative for equivalent fractions. I teach Special Education and my students are enthuastic to "play" with it, because they see it as a game. They enjoy having the option of becoming the "puzzle master". It also has different stages (easy, intermediate, hard) which makes it great for differentiation. It would be even better if it could extend to be used for adding and subtracting fractions. Other than that, it has been a great addition to my Learning Center.
Glad to Have This!!

Fraction Pie Puzzles This game is a good addition to my classroom. It works well with one to two players and really helps solidify the concepts of fractions. It helps my students with equivalencies, comparing of fractions and reinforces many other concepts and skills related to fractions. The puzzles go from easy to more difficult and offer a challenge for any learner. I did need to spend a bit of time explaining that some student generated solutions may not match the solutions on the cards, but I saw this as a benefit and used to encourage the students to think from an open ended perspective. This is the nature of mathematics and I considered it a positive. The design of the game and parts are easy to work with, during both play and clean up. All the parts are durable and well sized for their use. This is a great feature because kids don't always keep track of things and this game doesn't have a lot of small parts which can be easily lost. If you do a lot of small group instruction and interactive type teaching this game will work well for you and your students. This game is really going to help me during small group instruction time! I highly recommend it.
