My child didn't like it.
Parents intuition should never be ignored and Blippi is not something I can allow our child to watch. There are too many better choices out there. I felt like it was important to share with other parents why we came to this conclusion: There are glaring misspellings of words that flash across the screen. That's the opposite of educational. Blippi has encouraged dangerous behaviors. Examples: running alongside a moving bus or using power tools. He seems to be annoyed by actual live children he accidentally encounters in the places he films. His voice, affect and manner are insincere and infantilized - not good ways to speak to small children. He mis-identifies objects and doesn't bother to correct them, either on the spot or in post-production. He pushes the spelling of his name hard, as if he is trying to grind it into my childs consciousness and harvest clicks. Incidents such as doing an entire video with his pants zipper all the way down is either terrible production values or a sick joke. He can be seen throwing toys and objects around with disregard and not cleaning them up or addressing what he just did. There is obviously no childcare or education professional involved - compare that to Sesame Street or Daniel Tiger. The entire presentation is loud, frantic, noisy and hyperactive - aspects known to "hypnotize" small children.
