Q: How is this suitable for 12 months?! This seems like it should be recommended for older kids as these are choking hazards.

submitted by Concernedparent - 6 months ago
  • A: Hi Concernedparent. We take safety matters very seriously. The balls in this set must pass a specific gorge test in order to pass ASTM guidelines and safety regulations. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and concern. The Battat Team

Q: The coin seems sort of small, so it's a worry. Can the dial be turned without it, should the parents feel that the coin isn't safe? (One-year-old)

submitted by Hope - 1 year ago
  • A: Thank you so much! I didn't think to look at the video. This is perfect, and if I ship it today, it will get there by her birthday!

submitted byHope - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi Hope. The coin on this set is part of the Gumball Machine structure and it is not made to be removed. It is the button you push down (not turned) on to get a gumball to go down the chute. If you are unsure, please watch the video on Target's product page. Thank you. The Battat Team

    Hard fo push button down

This is a very well built toy and great concept! I took off one star because the button is very hard to press down for a child! Even for me, it takes some effort to push down. My daughter is 18 months old and has a very hard time pushing it down by herself, I have to help her. She understands you have to push, she just doesn’t have the strength. They should make it easier for little children!

Super popular for our 12 month old, and

This toy became immediately popular for our 12 month old on his birthday. Figured it out pretty quickly and now puts other balls into it as well. Our 5 and 7 year old love it too lolol. Our friends with a 12 month old also got one and their daughter loves it.

Its a little boring. I thought the balls opened and my little one was super excited, even got items to go in them so we were both disappointed that they didnt open. Dont think its worth the price tag honestly.

    2 year old Choked

My son just choked on a ball, good thing I was around. These balls break in half really easily! Please don’t leave your child unattended while they play with this. Love the idea of the toy but the balls are not safe…

    Just one missed direction....

After you remove the tape, you can take out all but 2 balls. These 2 balls are in another plastic container but there's no instructions on how to get them out. I was trying everything - even lifting the "shoot," but it wouldn't come out. Finally, I was able to grab the edge of the plastic they were in & pushed it through. Then I cut them out & all was right in the world! Product is well made & my grandson loves it!

    Be careful!

My one year old loves playing with this. But he loves to throw the balls around and one ball broke in half and he put it in his mouth and choked on it. I'm writing this just to warm other parents of the risk! The balls are fragile if they are thrown around and pose a choking hazard!!
