Book Synopsis

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

A moving story about a woman trying to expose the truth others have buried in a country engulfed in silence.

A WOMAN'S EXCITING STRUGGLE TO UNVEIL THE TRUTH EVERYONE HAS DENIED.

Madrid, 1960. Mercedes has her future planned. As a member of a wealthy family, she is about to be married and form a family of her own, as she has always wanted. However, her life takes a turn when, upon her grandmother's passing, she learns their name hides a few lies she never would have guessed. Secrets that have remained buried, but now threaten her present happiness.

From then on, the young woman begins to question the values she learned since childhood, stepping away from her world in search for answers. Before her is a new path and the possibility to follow it to the very end... even if it breaks her heart.

With the talent of other great female narrators, Isabel Romero moves us through this story of wounds and silences, of women who had to keep quiet, and of those who dared raise their voices to expose injustice.
