Q: Hi, after feeding baby, can I keep the leftover from the bottle in the refrigerator? If so, how long? Also, can I prepare bottles for the near future. For example, can I make a 4oz bottle, store in the refrigerator for a later dose?

A: Hi Muva, thank you for your good questions! Our prepared powdered formulas can be kept covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Once the feeding begins, discard any product that has not been consumed within one hour. Do not refrigerate the rest of the formula in a bottle that has been fed. A: Hi Doggiemom214! Thank you for your question! If you wish to warm Product, we recommend not warming it more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit in order to keep the effectiveness of the probiotic, which is heat sensitive. Most babies/toddlers don’t seem to mind whether their bottle/sippy cup is warmed or straight out of the refrigerator. Some babies/toddlers may prefer the temperature of the formula to be similar from one feeding to the next. If you want to warm a bottle/sippy cup that has been in the refrigerator, we suggest that you run warm tap water over the container or place it in a pan of hot, not boiling, water. My premie did great in the NICU with breast milk and fortifier but when we were discharged they provided a typical formula to add to our breast milk to fortify it. Our son immediately began getting gassy and uncomfortable. You could hear his belly rolling at all times. We switched to the sensitive formula with little improvement. The switch to Nutrigen finally did the trick. It’s a relief to see our son with a comfortable belly and able to focus on his surroundings.

There should be more programs and ways to help families financially even when the family doesn’t qualify for WIC.
