Packing was pretty decent considering it was two large heavy bricks of dirt. The instructions said to use warm water for the dirt bricks to dissolve. It didn’t break down easily for me and it took several applications of water and I had to manaully pull apart the bricks with the help of my 4 year old son. It gives off the appearance of regular soil and you can see the small coconut fibers within them. It’s soft and durable and I was able to fill up five pots of soil using this briquette. So I would say get about 5 to 6 parts of soil minimum because at first I only got three and I had plenty left over.

This coconut filler potting soil's light fiber texture encourages even water distribution preventing root rot and dehydration. My plants were looking wilted before using this product but appear healthier now. This comes in a brick that when you add water, it expands naturally. This product is versatile as it can be used out in a garden or in a potted plant. Its natural salt content and balanced ph encourages healthy plant growth.

I did add more than the suggested 1 gallon of warm water per 1 medium brick. The brick made enough to fill up a 12 inch pot. The coir is very light weight and seems to hold moisture well. I recieved the 2 bricks in a single cardboard box. The bricks were easier to handle than the typical bags of soil that I normally use.

They're super easy to use; just soak them in warm water and they expand into a generous amount of fluffy, aerated soil. Their water retention capabilities are truly impressive. The soil stays moist, but not soggy. It provides an incredible environment for root development. I also appreciated that storing the briquettes is really easy. Since they are dehydrated and compressed, they take up very little space until you are ready to use them. These have been an efficient improvement of my overall gardening experience, both in storage simplicity and plant health.

This soak time does not take that long and it’s easy to use. All you have to do is break off pieces that you need and soak it for at least 30 minutes and you can squeeze out the excess water. It is a great option to add into your substrate. I like the airiness it gives in my substrate so I have not had too root rot issues.

I use the extra when transferring to the garden. All of my babies grow fantastic in this stuff. Excellent value. One little brick makes a lot of soil. The compact block expands significantly when hydrated with water, providing ample lightweight and airy growing medium for plants. Its excellent water retention properties ensure consistent moisture levels, promoting healthy root development and reducing the need for frequent watering. Unlike some soil mixes that may be too acidic or alkaline, coconut coir maintains a balanced pH level, promoting optimal nutrient uptake and overall plant health. Buy it, try it! I highly recommended.
