Book Synopsis

A uniquely effective approach to overcoming anxiety, imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and self-sabotage in the saddle.

Nearly every rider has experienced fear while working with a horse. Fear is a natural response to a threatening situation, and when it passes, it is not necessarily a problem. But when apprehension begins to dominate our thoughts, and time with our horses is overshadowed by panic or dread, something needs to change.

What happens when fear refuses to fade, yet giving up horses is not an option? Certified hypnotist Nicole Weber offers practical tools to help riders manage fear that interferes with confidence, performance, and enjoyment. Her aim is not to eliminate fear entirely, since fear is appropriate in genuinely dangerous situations, but to help riders regain control when they are safe and their minds are telling a different story.

Weber begins by explaining how fear develops, why it takes hold, and how horses reflect human emotions. She then provides a clear, empowering path forward, giving readers the tools they need to turn away from fear and reconnect with the joy of horse life. Step-by-step photographs, video links, and guided audio lessons teach the practice of self-hypnosis and Weber's own method, known as Equihypnosis.

These safe and effective techniques can transform not only the way riders handle fear in the saddle, but also how they approach challenges beyond the barn. No matter how long fear has been present, or how old the rider may be, Equihypnosis offers a way to break free from limiting beliefs.

Practical, reassuring, and confidence-building, this book is for every horse person who wants to fully enjoy their time at the barn and never miss a moment in the saddle.

About the Author

NicoleWeber is a certified hypnotist, hypnosis instructor, performance coach, equine-assisted mental health practitioner, and equine osteopath. A lifelong horsewoman, she has experience in a number of disciplines, including dressage, show jumping, and Western. Weber's interest in hypnosis began when she was 13 years old, and since studying the practice and becoming certified, she has focused on helping professional and recreational riders overcome fears, improve their seat and aids, and achieve a harmonious partnership with their horse. This led her to develop her own techniques specifically for equestrians, which she calls Equihypnosis, and explains in her book by the same name. Using her methods, Weber trained riding therapists at the Kentaurus Institute for Equine-Assisted Interventions, and they have led her to become a popular international speaker. She is based in Krum, Texas (equihypnosis.com).
