A: Hi ajm! After you have painted two base coats and a top coat of essie gel couture polish, it takes about 15 minutes to dry. Hope this helps!

A classic takes about 2 minutes per layer to dry, the Gel Couture takes about 5 minutes per layer to dry. Once you have your layers on, it takes about 15 minutes to dry, but you always want to refrain from busy nails for the first hour or so after your mani.

Online it can be harder to know what you’re seeing so scroll down and read the “HIGHLIGHTS” to learn if the color is opaque, sheer, shimmer, etc. And yes, the Wearing Hue is a creamy delicate white with a slight blush of champagne and shimmer.

A: Hi Amanda! Don't use a UV lamp with the Gel Couture nail colors and Top Coat This formula is made for easy home use. No base coat is used. Apply 2 coats of color to bare nails, finish with the top coat and let your nails dry like a normal nail enamel. Remove with your regular polish remover.

A: Hi there AMM! The Gel Couture colors were made to go over a bare nail bed, with not base coat. While base coats help classic nail enamels adhere to the nail bed, we don't think the Gel Couture will work well over a base coat.

With well prepped cuticles, this nail polish will last perfectly for well over a week. It’s pretty easy to remove, with a little more effort than regular polish but nothing crazy. However, this polish stained my nails so badly. You can see exactly where the polish was and the stain is not coming off even after multiple tries with nail polish remover. This was specifically with rock the runway (red). I haven’t tried other colors so I can’t speak for them but it’s definitely something to keep in mind!
Finally the nail polish problem has been solved

I am blown away. I spend $45 on dip nails and they chip around 10 days and ruin my nails (if I peel off the dip). I am on day 7 with this nail polish and no chips! Saving so much money and also love the top coat as it makes the nails look like a gel manicure. Highly recommend!

I did 3 coats to achieve this color. When I added the top coat it made a nice pearly pink. I plan to reuse this product anytime I want to wear my natural nails. Also the last pic id what my nails looked like after 10 days. No chips!

It’s a long lasting polish and gives that same gel effect that a trip to the salon would give. I want these in every color now! And did I mention that it is vegan, 8 free and never animal tested!

I also don’t like how if you wanted to wear it alone without the top (step 2) you would have to add more than two layers to get it to look right. It doesn’t go on like a gel-like polish but it honestly look like and behavior like regular nail polish until you add step 2. Now to the important part for me for any nail polish: does it chip right away?Yes, kind of. The first day I avoided putting my hand in water as much as I usually do, and they held up, but when I washed my hair and did the dishes, they were quick to chip, so I would say avoid much water and wear gloves, and they will last longer.

I like how this polish just takes away a subtle yellow color on the nails. Although I like the benefits of the polish I would wear it by itself, I don’t like it. Definitely using the top coat. The polish last about a week then it will start chipping off and peeling off, like in the second pic.

I love this gel nail polish because it dries super fast, which is perfect when you’re in a hurry. The top coat gives it that shiny, Shelic look that makes your nails look straight out of the salon but way cheaper! Definitely recommend getting both the color and top coat bottles for the full effect. It’s been my go to for easy, long lasting manicures at home.

No amount of shaking the bottle could fix it, so I think that’s just how the polish is supposed to be. I had to do multiple layers of the polish before it even began to show up. It’s just too thin to do anything. If you love the minimalist, barely there polish aesthetic then this might be for you, but it was a no for me. It’s a shame because I like the concept.

It is quite long-lasting since it is a gel that works with the lamp. The texture is normal like any nail polish and you must keep it well covered so that it doesn't dry quickly. Drying with the lamp is super fast, it is ready in a matter of seconds, it has a beautiful shine and finish, not at all opaque.

Hi there deebc658_1134, we want to understand what happened just as much as you do. That’s not the results busy hands should see! This long wear formula should be applied to clean, bare nails, with no base coat. Just 2 coats of color and the Gel Couture Top coat, each layer should take no more than 5 minutes to dry.

The scent is the same as all other nail polishes. I like that the top coat helps leave a shinier and smoother finish when you’re done and the polish feels like it hardens more than regular nail polish. I am using the shade 49 Gossamer Garments and 02 Blushed Metal as my top coat.
