Q: Is this a gel polish?

A: Hi there Casey, Jelly, Jell, Gel…. we know it can get confusing. Jellies are a type of nail color that is brushed on and air dried (vs. the Gels that are cured with a UV/LED lamp). Jelly colors go on sheer, but are made to be applied in multiple layers depending on the finish you want (you can apply up to 4 coats for a more opaque finish). And yes, they can be worn alone or go over your classic nail colors for a unique and custom color result. Have fun with this versatile Nail Art Studio product!.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This arctic jelly is a milky white color. It is jelly like which is very different from other white colors. It can be worn on its own and gives nails a sheer white color or it can be applied as topcoat. I used it in combination with blush jelly and if you prefer pinkish finish you apply blush jelly on top and if you prefer a pale color finish you apply arctic jelly on the top. It is very similar to the very popular milky pink jelly nails which you can get from salons.

The color in the photo is way lighter and more jelly than how it appears in person just in the bottle. Upon application the first coat is thin and jelly however each additional layer just makes it cloudy and bubbly.

Streaky. Not jelly. Not transparent unless you do one coat (which looks streaky). If you specifically want jelly polish don’t get this one.

The color is not quite as bold as the photo, but it’s still a gorgeous subtle pink. It’s a little more like cherry blossom pink, and the effect after one coat looks like pink milk glass… GORGEOUS. I need to stop myself from panic buying 2 dozen of these out of fear they’ll discontinue it (but I probably will, anyway) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
