I bought this as a gift for my daughter at Christmas as I was really disappointed to find a lot of the raw wooden pieces were finished very poorly. We had to throw out several pieces that were splintering and/or poorly cut. The painted pieces were done really nice and intricately. As other reviews stated, you don't get a lot in a box and I was very disappointed to have to then throw some away so my daughter didn't get splinter trying to play with them. I should have taken more photos but I wasn't originally planning on reviewing this item.

My daughter loved these blocks! We exchanged the “sweet treats” blocks for this set. Love that they are all wooden. Easy to build up. I second what other reviewers have said that if you can get two sets it’s worth it to build a bigger castle!
