Q: Does this have a very strong pine odor?

submitted by dedeMay - 7 years ago
  • A: Returnable is this product

submitted byDK - 3 months ago
  • A: No. Its the best litter I've ever used

submitted byMicia - 7 years ago
  • A: No this doesn’t have a strong odor at all. The only litter our cat would use. Very good litter.

submitted byKim - 7 years ago
  • A: no --no odor what so ever i have been using this and only this for 11 years it is great

submitted bypatte - 7 years ago
  • A: No--it's more of a wood-shaving smell, and it's pretty mild. It's strongest right when you pour it out of the bag, but it dissipates pretty quickly.

submitted bylifeboatb - 7 years ago
  • A: Very pleasant pine scent. Like walking in a pine forest.

submitted byJohnnyMoe - 8 months ago

Q: Does this litter track out of the catbox and around house, like the clay litter does?

submitted by TJ - 7 years ago
  • A: At first when the pellets are whole, it will not track. However, if you leave it for a long time whithout replacing ( a week or so), you will begin to see saw dust outside the box.

submitted byJustMe - 7 years ago
  • A: Not at all. I love this product and will never use another cat litter. Sometimes a few pellets are kicked out of the box when the cat is scratching, but it is right there by the box and can be picked up and put back in. Best litter ever!

submitted byfrmrhstprof - 7 years ago
  • A: This is the best litter I’ve ever used. As for tracking outside the litter box, I only have to pick up a few pellets each week. Very minimal tracking ( naturally it depends on how full your box is). Cats love it and so do I

submitted byKristyATL - 7 years ago

Q: Question 2: are these pellets any different than the pine pellets burned in woodstoves, which are 40 lbs for 6-7.00? Thanks!

submitted by TJ - 7 years ago
  • A: no they actually look like rabbit pellet food but beige i have been using this product for 11 years they also tell you to use this if your cat gets surgery or if someone in your home has allergies the pellets are just made of pine and they become a powder also can flush down toilet --put in garden --no smell --no powdery smoke like the clay cat liters have when you pour it in hope this helps patte

submitted bypatte - 7 years ago
  • A: “Feline Pine has been put through a special process that removes the volatile pine oil that has been found to harm cats. Some stove pellets still have that oil and they have been found to be harmful!”

submitted byAnimalLover - 7 years ago

Q: How do you get the urine out? Scoop it?

submitted by Monterey Gal - 6 months ago
  • A: Thank you for your question, Monterey Gal. Feline Pine Original is made from 100% Pine. Sawdust byproduct from lumber mills is collected and compressed into tiny pellets. These pellets act like tiny sponges that absorb urine and break apart into sawdust. You scoop the solid waste daily, and gently shake the box so that the good pellets will float to the top and the sawdust drops to the bottom. You leave the sawdust in the box as it is still working to absorb moisture and odor. When the box is about 90% sawdust it is time to dispose of and start the 1" process all over again. If you have any further questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to call/text us at 800-833-9532. Our team is available to help Monday - Friday, from 9 - 5 Eastern. We'll be glad to help! Please mention your case number: 06841021, when contacting us.

Q: Can this litter be flushed in the toilet?

submitted by Amanda - 2 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question, Amanda. We do not recommend flushing the litter waste or putting it into drains due to the danger of cat feces entering the sewer system. Dangerous bacteria can be found in cat feces which could eventually make its way into ocean waters and threaten marine life, or in the case of local waterways which could impact drinking water, irrigating crops, etc. We recommend only disposing of used litter in the garbage. Additionally, the product should not be flushed or put in drains. Our team is available to help via phone call/text at 800-833-9532 Monday - Friday, from 9 - 5 Eastern. Please reach out to us directly and we'll be glad to help with any additional questions, comments, or concerns. Please mention your reference number: 007719545A, when contacting us.

Q: I have a litter that's similar, I tried scooping the poop out and must of stirred up the urine smell. Do you leave this alone and just completely change out weekly? I've only used clumped litter. HELP

Q: Is the litter Flushable?

submitted by Quesfordeals - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi Quesfordeals, Feline Pine Cat Litter and waste should not be flushed or put in drains. We recommend disposing of the solid waste and clumps in the trash in a biodegradable bag. (However, it can be disposed of in a plastic bag, too.) Thanks!

Does not hide poop smells

4 out of 5 stars
DK - 9 days ago
These are great as far as dust control (tracking), and liquid disposal (pee turns to "sand." I have two kittens and their poop is tiny so it can be hard to remove it when cleaning the box but I've gotten used to searching for it. The problem I have is the smell. Not the smell of the litter but the fact that it doesn't absorb smells from the cat waste. I can always tell when the cats have used the box in my bedroom even before I look. To be honest the description says nothing about solid waste odors - only liquid - I guess that should have been a warning. Am going to try the platinum and hope it works - the clay litter in using right now tracks all over the place, whereas very few of the FP pellets hit the floor. Fingers crossed!

Not everyone likes this product but it’s the the only one I like using. Unlike clay litter, the smell doesn’t linger. I have been using feline pine since I got my first cat, but I ran out and had to buy clay litter since it was the only option at the store, and I couldn’t handle the smell. I immediately ordered the feline pine online. What a difference. What I also like about feline pine is that I don’t have to scoop. As soon as all the pellets are dissolved I just throw it away. The only down side about this product is that it’s only available online, my target doesn’t have it in store.

100% DO NOT RECOMMEND. Urine turns it into sawdust and it gets EVERYWHERE. It only masks the smell for a day and then it stops. Next to Pretty Litter this is among the worst litter I’ve ever used.

Feline Pine Cat Litter Review

Great for cats and decor, but warps over time. Cleaning is hassle, especially changing litter. Too small for automatic litter boxes. Consider using a table with a real plant instead.

I used to use paper pellets and my cat hated it (despite being raised on paper pellets). He would want the litter changed constantly bc it would hold the smell and make him sneeze. If I didn’t catch it on time he would pee around the house avoiding the litter box. Upon researching, I tried this pine litter and it saved me! He hasn’t peed outside the litter box since! And it’s easy to tell when to add more or change bc the pellets dissolve ! I wish target carried a bigger size !

Why doesn’t Target carry this anymore?? It is is the only litter that doesn’t make my house smell like litter it has virtually no scent and feels so natural the pellets start absorbing right away and if you scoop or clean litter often it is the best?!! I don’t want to start shopping elsewhere but I don’t want to shop 3 places.
