Q: Does this have a very strong pine odor?

submitted by dedeMay - 6 years ago
  • A: No--it's more of a wood-shaving smell, and it's pretty mild. It's strongest right when you pour it out of the bag, but it dissipates pretty quickly.

submitted bylifeboatb - 6 years ago
  • A: No. Its the best litter I've ever used

submitted byMicia - 6 years ago
  • A: No this doesn’t have a strong odor at all. The only litter our cat would use. Very good litter.

submitted byKim - 6 years ago
  • A: no --no odor what so ever i have been using this and only this for 11 years it is great

submitted bypatte - 6 years ago

Q: Does this litter track out of the catbox and around house, like the clay litter does?

submitted by TJ - 6 years ago
  • A: Not at all. I love this product and will never use another cat litter. Sometimes a few pellets are kicked out of the box when the cat is scratching, but it is right there by the box and can be picked up and put back in. Best litter ever!

submitted byfrmrhstprof - 6 years ago
  • A: At first when the pellets are whole, it will not track. However, if you leave it for a long time whithout replacing ( a week or so), you will begin to see saw dust outside the box.

submitted byJustMe - 6 years ago
  • A: This is the best litter I’ve ever used. As for tracking outside the litter box, I only have to pick up a few pellets each week. Very minimal tracking ( naturally it depends on how full your box is). Cats love it and so do I

submitted byKristyATL - 6 years ago

Q: Question 2: are these pellets any different than the pine pellets burned in woodstoves, which are 40 lbs for 6-7.00? Thanks!

submitted by TJ - 6 years ago
  • A: no they actually look like rabbit pellet food but beige i have been using this product for 11 years they also tell you to use this if your cat gets surgery or if someone in your home has allergies the pellets are just made of pine and they become a powder also can flush down toilet --put in garden --no smell --no powdery smoke like the clay cat liters have when you pour it in hope this helps patte

submitted bypatte - 6 years ago
  • A: “Feline Pine has been put through a special process that removes the volatile pine oil that has been found to harm cats. Some stove pellets still have that oil and they have been found to be harmful!”

submitted byAnimalLover - 6 years ago

Q: Can this litter be flushed in the toilet?

submitted by Amanda - 7 months ago
  • A: Thank you for your question, Amanda. We do not recommend flushing the litter waste or putting it into drains due to the danger of cat feces entering the sewer system. Dangerous bacteria can be found in cat feces which could eventually make its way into ocean waters and threaten marine life, or in the case of local waterways which could impact drinking water, irrigating crops, etc. We recommend only disposing of used litter in the garbage. Additionally, the product should not be flushed or put in drains. Our team is available to help via phone call/text at 800-833-9532 Monday - Friday, from 9 - 5 Eastern. Please reach out to us directly and we'll be glad to help with any additional questions, comments, or concerns. Please mention your reference number: 007719545A, when contacting us.

Q: I have a litter that's similar, I tried scooping the poop out and must of stirred up the urine smell. Do you leave this alone and just completely change out weekly? I've only used clumped litter. HELP

submitted by auntzissy - 1 year ago
  • A: We’re sorry to learn of your experience, auntzissy. Feline Pine Original is made from 100% pine. Sawdust byproduct from lumber mills is collected and compressed into tiny pellets. These pellets act like tiny sponges that absorb urine and break apart into sawdust. You scoop the solid waste daily, and gently shake the box so that the good pellets will float to the top and the sawdust drops to the bottom. Leave the sawdust in the box as it is still working to absorb moisture and odor. When the box is about 90% sawdust it is time to dispose of and start the 1" process all over again. We'd like to make this right if we can. Our team is available to help by phone/text message at 800-833-9532, Monday - Friday, from 9 - 5 Eastern. Please reach out to us directly and we'll be glad to help! Please mention your reference number: 007549723A, when contacting us.

Q: How would you compare this to Breeze litter pellets

submitted by Linda - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Linda, Feline Pineâ„¢ Litter is made of 100% All-Natural Pine for the best natural odor control without added fragrance. It is 100% chemical free and sustainably sourced without cutting down new trees. Feline Pineâ„¢ Litter fully absorbs urine, with no dust and no tracking. Breeze litter pellets are made from Mordenite Zeolite, according to their product page. Thank you.

Q: Is the litter Flushable?

submitted by Quesfordeals - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Quesfordeals, Feline Pine Cat Litter and waste should not be flushed or put in drains. We recommend disposing of the solid waste and clumps in the trash in a biodegradable bag. (However, it can be disposed of in a plastic bag, too.) Thanks!

Q: Do cats adjust to this well after using traditional litter?

submitted by Cat - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi Cat, Yes they do. Introducing Feline Pine Non-Clumping Cat Litter slowly to your cat will assure a successful transition. We recommend the following approach: Pour one inch of Feline Pine Non-Clumping Cat Litter into a clean litter box. Next, pour one to two inches of your old litter brand on top. Don’t mix! Your cat will do this naturally as she uses her litter. Next time you change the litter box, use the same amount of Feline Pine, but less of your old litter brand. Repeat for another three to four litter changes, lessening the amount of your old litter each time. Thank you.

I like that the pine litter has no tracking which is helpful. It absorbs urine well, but my cat does not like it at all. I didn’t realize he was one of the finicky ones so I introduced straight pine too early! He poops ON TOP of the pine which is annoying. Never again.

I wanted to like it...

Yanna N - 1 month ago
I wanted to give this a try because of all the good things I hear about Pine litter and how it's essentially no dust. First time trying it and Absorbs pee great, but with the pellets being thick like colored pencils, you toss a lot out with whatever is used. And if you're house has plants, this definitely created a huge gnat infestation in the litter box. I was so upset about it. PROS: Great absorbency, takes care of urine odor really well, breaks down good. CONS: Not all cats like it due to: Pellet size, non clumping "litter" so you throw more away than you get to use (which makes it expensive), attracts a ship ton of gnats... To all the lucky owners that loves this product, I'm happy for you.

I love the price of this litter. However, it just didn’t cover the odor enough for us. Our cat has especially stinky poops and the best thing we’ve found that works for us is the breeze system. I really wanted these to work for us though. I’d say they are a close second. If the breeze system wasn’t available, we would be using this litter.

I wanted to use pine litter so bad. My cat wouldn’t go in it. She held her pee and poop. Then I mixed in regular litter and she would pick out the pieces of wood with her mouth and play with them like a toy. She’s a one year old cat. I love her but gosh dang use the litter cat!

Please mention your reference number: 007831877A, when contacting us. To transition your cat to use Feline Pine Natural Pine Cat Litter there is a process. Phase 1: Pour one inch of Feline Pine into a clean litter box. Next, pour one to two inches of your old litter brand on top. Do not mix—your cat will mix this naturally as she uses her litter. Phase 2: The next time you change the litter box, fill with one inch of Feline Pine and a lesser amount of your old litter brand. Repeat this for another 3 to 4 litter changes, lessening the amount of your old litter each time. Phase 3: Fill litter box with one inch of Feline Pine. At this point, she should be acclimated to Feline Pine, but some cats do need a little more time – don‘t give up!

I can't tell you how much money I spent on litter and how many I went through with my diabetic cat.. She peed so much, and this litter was the only one that worked the best.. ESPECIALLY with the smell. I have a shifter box, and all the dust goes to the bottom for easy cleaning. Plus, they don't track it all over the house like other litters

I like this because it’s better for my cats. It also doesn’t have much of a scent atall which I dislike in most litter because you can smell it really strong through the house. It still controls odor. It doesn’t stick to the bottom of the box atall. It’s better all around.

LB - 5 months ago, Verified purchaser
I switched over to this from clumping litter and I prefer it. I love the natural pine scent from the pellets and it's better for the environment. I figured out that I had to scoop and sift the sawdust waste left behind, leaving the pellets - it's pretty easy but I have decided to purchase a sifting litter box to make this process more efficient. There is a lot less dust in the air, purifier does not go off like it did when I used to scoop the clump litter, and no tracking!
