Fellowes LX850 EasyPress Full Strip Stapler, 25-Sheet Capacity, White

Never compared staplers before but this new LX850 is amazing. Being able to staple 25 sheets at 1 time is so easy. My wife has carpal tunnel syndrome in both of her wrists & she suffers no pain stapling her paperwork. It is totally effective to complete her job. The Swingline was ideal back then but Fellows has engineered an excellent Stapler. I have gone past my reviewing stapler days just to see how it handled for the money. I would recommend everyone to get this stapler. All the features that come with this stapler are excellent. Thank You Fellows.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using reduced effort staplers from competitors for the 10+ years. Over time, I've learned which ones work and which ones don't. Some will not staple all the way through if your in a hurry and don't get the stapler pushed all the way. Others jam like crazy and have such a hard time trying to clear it. Not the case with this one. For the last month, each time I've used it, it's been a quick, clean, super easy task. No jams at all. No incomplete stapled pages if your in a hurry. It goes through 25 sheets of paper with no effort, as it is rated for. Curious, I purposely went through 45 pages and it still went through all the way and secured the paper. I wouldn't go past that because the staples don't seem long enough to grip the paper when over 45 pages. I love the clean, sleek look of this stapler. I've been impressed enough that I've ordered 4 more for around the office and I'm sure once people start using them, I'll be ordering more. Having the microban technology is a bonus! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The typical desktop stapler that most of us have probably used is the type where the top part is one unit. It’s a handle that you pull open to reveal a magazine into which you load your strip of staples. You close it and then that entire unit is what you press down on to apply a staple. And this is where problems can arise despite staplers being around for at least 150 years. In many cases, I’ve had to adapt my touch to accommodate the stapler’s particular quirks. For one of my staplers, I have to make sure I am physically above the handle to push straight down or I won’t get the papers cleanly stapled. With others, I have to slam the handle down hard. Some are hopelessly finicky and random with regard to handle pressure. The LX850 also has a one-unit handle. However, there is a second larger handle above it made of a very sturdy plastic. It seems to provide a little extra leverage. With the LX850 on my desk, I was able to cleanly staple 25 sheets of paper while sitting down and only using slight pressure from two fingers. The LX850 also fits comfortably in the hand for those who prefer stapling by squeezing. It may seem like much ado about nothing. But if you are working busily, dealing with a fussy stapler gets old very fast. No one enjoys prying apart a misfired staple that mars the corner of a crisply printed document. The staple remover sometimes damages the paper further and, in any case, never seems to be around when you need it. Speaking of which, the LX850 comes with a chrome staple remover that slides out from a rear slot. As the LX850 is touted as a “jam-free” stapler, it would appear that this handy feature will be seldomly used. Just the same, especially in a busy work environment, I can see how the remover may eventually get lost because someone neglects to return it into its slot. It would be great if there was a way to design the remover in such a way where it can be slid out and used without becoming detached from the stapler. Another convenient feature is the depth guide – three markers just behind the crimp area on both the left and right side. You line up your paper against these markers to ensure that the staple is applied straight or at a 45-degree angle. The markers also indicate whether the staple will be applied a half inch or a quarter inch from the top of your paper. These markers are notched into the plastic and, being white-on-white, they are difficult to see. Indeed, I did not even notice them until a few days later. Coming back to the handle, Fellowes has applied an antimicrobial treatment to help prevent bacteria. I don’t know how effective it is or how long it will last, but it is a helpful layer of protection nonetheless. I received this product free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the stapler for a few weeks now and work in a fast paced environment with lots of paper changing hands all day long. I tend to pick my staplers up and use them one handed as I am starting to move on to the next task with my other. This stapler is great for that. It took about a day of adjusting to the new shape and design of it for it to feel super comfortable and quick but my hands have thanked me. If you grab the stapler too high up from the hinge the press goes down slightly and makes the jaws close down lightly which can hinder putting a stack of paper in the jaws freely. But, once I adjusted my motion and grip to the new design it was great. It doesn't take any effort at all to use and it's not heavy in my hand like others I have had over the years. One of my clerks has asked for one at her workstation as it is much easier on her wrists to work with it. Overall, no complaints and only good results. I was very pleasantly surprised with the performance of the LX850 Stapler, it actually lived up to the hype. I've been using it for several weeks now and no jams! I've been working in offices for 45 years and this is the first stapler that hasn't jammed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On the one hand a stapler is a stapler right? Nonetheless I was pleasantly surprised. It's a little awkward using at first, just the size and shape is different than a typical nothing special stapler. However, after stapling a couple times it really feels great. I'm able to use it one handed, and my hands are rather small. I made a bunch of paper plate tambourines for my class and it was easy peasy. I did it holding the stapler in my hand and I had no trouble. I did enjoy a stapler that isn't just for desk use. I find the same amount of resistance whether I was doing one or twenty five pages. And honestly, the 25 page limit is a limit of the staple not the stapler. I'd love to see this same design, but for longer staples. I really appreciate the ease of use. It was easy to put in staples too, which is nice because some staples are like Fort Knox. I highly recommend this stapler if you're looking for one that is nice and comfortable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stapler is small, but mighty! It staples through all sorts of material besides paper, like card board. The design is sleek. However, I found the top part where it is separated from the middle a bit odd and took some getting used to.

The former would not properly fasten any more than 15 pages and the latter would leave a malformed staple for under 12 pages. Now there is only one stapler on my desk! All this, PLUS, I don't have to worry about doing a bacterial wipe if I am uncertain about who handled the stapler previously! A wonderful replacement to something that I use up to 30 times per day. It is very light weight but still sturdy and very quiet. The depth guide is a feature I never thought I would use, but I do almost every time now! I love the fact that it is treated with Microban because a few people in my office like to use my stapler. We might have to buy a few for the office so mine doesn't go missing. Although I don't normally staple more than half a dozen sheets one time I had to test the claim that it can handle 25 pages and it did a superb job. The effort required stayed low and the staples penetrated the stack of paper cleanly with no pulling. I even tried it with thicker construction paper paper and some pieces of cardboard and this stapler handled it all beautifully. We love the stapler and also like the white/gray color scheme. It is light weight (Compared to the Swingline 747x) and its ability to press a staple through as many as 25 sheets of paper with great ease greatly reduces the stress being placed on one’s hand. The Microban, markings, and the staple remover that are included are a step in the right direction, though there is room for improvement for these added features. The marking needs some contrasting color so that it can be easily seen. The staple remover is a useful feature, but not practical to use beyond an occasional staple removal or two due to its size. The Mircoban is nice touch, though the unit itself does not mention that it contains Mircoban. If it is used in a communal copy/print area, this feature would not be known to the users of that station. Regardless, these features do not in anyway diminish the primary function of this stapler which is its ability to staple paper together with ease. Initial loading of the staples resulted in a jam, but it was easily cleared and hasn't jammed since. It is taller than a regular stapler and may not fit in a confined desk area, but otherwise an excellent choice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 4/4/22 Fellowes EasyPress Stapler LX850 This is a nice little home or office stapler. I had a chance to use it this weekend at the historical society that I work for. It easily stapled 25 sheets of 20lb paper and also did 20 sheets of 28lb paper. With this new design it takes almost no effort to staple large packs of paper. Style wise it has an attractive look that will fit in at any area. Since we do our news letter in house I would like to see this stapler with a 17+ inch reach for our 11 X 17 28lb paper. I think that this would speed up the build of our 10 page newsletter. You don't need to apply any extra pressure. You can use one finger to press it down and it will do the job for you. I am extremely happy with this product and will never buy another stapler again. The corrugate packaging protected the stapler during shipment, and was easy to remove from the sales box. To my surprise the stapler slid very easily out of the plastic bag it was encased in. Incorporating Microban© Technology on the stapler is a real plus with the recent waves of COVID globally. It was a cinch to place the strip of staples into the stapler prior to using it. Operating the stapler is effortless whether you have 2, or 25 sheets to staple. The stapler is light weight, and is ergonomically comfortable. I am impressed by the minimal amount of down force needed to staple items together. The unit worked flawlessly, and is super quiet when stapling multiple sheets of copier paper, or heavier gage stock cards. I experienced no jamming, or inconsistent stapling quality with the chisel point staples. Incorporating a staple remover into the stapler, was a sweet addition. The remover fits snug into the backend and will not fall out if the stapler is carried by hand. The staple remover works fine whether you are removing from 2 sheets, or 25.
