Book Synopsis
Hollywood has come to Fern Valley, and the one stoplight town may never be the same. Everyone wants to get in on the act.
The crew from the wildly popular, fan favorite, Fatal Impressions, takes over Jules Keene's glamping resort, and they bring a lot of offscreen drama and baggage that doesn't include the scads of costumes, props, and crowds that descend on the bucolic resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Added security, hundreds of calls from hopeful extras, and some demanding divas keep Jules's team hopping.
When the show's prickly head writer ends up dead under the L. Frank Baum tiny house in what looks like a staged murder scene with a kitschy homage to the Wizard of Oz, Jules has to figure out who would want the writer dead. Then while they are still reeling from the first murder, the popular publicist gets lost after a long night at the local honky-tonk and winds up strangled. Jules needs to solve both crimes before filming is canceled, and her business is ruined.
Review Quotes
"In Vintage Trailers and Blackmailers, the calm of Jules Keene's Blue Ridge Mountain camper resort is disturbed when a man's lifeless body is found in the woods. What follows is a cozy mystery full of blackmail, secrets, mysterious strangers-and handsome security guy, Jake Evans. Jules and her loyal pup Bijou are in for a suspense-filled adventure. I love the warm and friendly characters and the twists and turns in this new down-home, mutt-loving series."
Susan Van Kirk, Author of The Endurance Mysteries and A Death at Tippitt Pond"Jules Keene is focused on her vintage trailer camping resort, but when a dead guest is discovered in the woods and her aunt is questioned, Jules decides to help catch the killer. She must stop the culprit, keep her guests satisfied, grow her business, run for president of the town's business council, and stay alive when the bad guys come after her. This book is a joy to read."
Jackie Layton, Author of the Low Country Dog Walker Mysteries"Packed with action and filled with "Oh, man, I didn't see THAT coming" moments, this first installment in the Jules Keene Glamping Mysteries series will not disappoint. And Weidner made glamping sound so glamorous that I think I'll take my husband up on his suggestion to go camping...but only if it's Fern Valley Camping Resort style!"
Jayne Ormerod, Author of Goin' Coastal
"I love the premise of this well-written and light-hearted whodunit where we meet Jules Keene, who owns a camping resort where murder does not mix with vintage trailers...From the introduction of the characters to the small-town atmosphere to the vintage trailer camp to the victim to the events leading up to his death and the killer's identity and apprehension, the author did a great job in presenting this well-crafted mystery that kept me immersed in all aspects...I look forward to more adventures with Jules and her friend in this delightfully entertaining series."
