If you enjoyed Fire Emblem Awakening, you'll enjoy Engage. The plot begins very similarly and this game continues the changes made to the series since Awakening. Engage offers a wide variety of customizations to each unit allowing you to do a "build" with different skills, emblems, and class customization. As always the story has its ups and downs, twists, comic relief moments, and diverse cast of characters. I have not completed the game yet at the time of writing this review, but I suspect I am over half way through. If the game finishes strong it will definitely be one of my favorite Fire Emblem games.

Much more focused on battles than the social sim from Three houses. Story could be better but the battling mechanics as well as the map designs have improved.

As a hardcore fire emblem fan I’m severely disappointed with this. Better off just playing 3 houses again. It’s just a bunch of cringey wifus

It’s a good entry in the series for sure but not one of the best. Brings back the weapon triangle and introduces new mechanics that give the classic style new breath, however story is one of the weakest in a while

This game is a fantastic, colorful and overall super fun celebration of the long running fire emblem franchise! At first I thought the past Emblems might be too overpowered and make strategy too easy but fortunately they are balanced quite well. While I believe the story is lacking compared to other installments in the franchise the characters are world are just so much fun to interact with. This is a game that I just love to sit back relax and enjoy, it’s very much the opposite of last installment Three Houses which could feel like a slog to get through with monastery segments that were mandatory and very tedious. So overall Engage is already one of my favorite Fire Emblem games due to its unique characters and great celebration of a series I think is neat!

Graphics are a big improvement coming from 3 Houses. Cutscenes look amazing with the 3D Models. Maps have dialogue that occur in between battles adding to the immersion. Plus the gameplay has a lot more depth compared to three houses.
